REALLY COOL NEWS. Read on..... π
In about 3-4 weeks, we'll be taking delivery of a custom rack of CADAC J Series channel strips; essentially a new console for the studio. I'm super excited & have been geeking out about this for a minute now.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the CADAC name, here's a partial list of artists that used and albums that were made on these desks:
AC/DC: The band mixed their 1979 album, Highway to Hell, on a Cadac console.
The Beatles: A Cadac console was used for some of their classic records.
Yusuf / Cat Stevens: This folk-rock singer recorded with a Cadac desk.
The Clash: Their iconic album London Calling was mixed on a Cadac console.
Elton John: The artist worked on recordings using a Cadac desk.
George Harrison: The Beatles guitarist used Cadac consoles at his home studio, Friar Park.
Iron Maiden: The heavy metal band used Cadac consoles for some of their recordings.
Mott The Hoople: The glam rock band used Cadac desks for recording and mixing.
Official MotΓΆrhead: The legendary rock band is also cited as having used a Cadac console.
Paul McCartney: The former Beatle used Cadac consoles for his work.
Pink Floyd: The progressive rock band utilized Cadac desks in the studio.
Queen: Several of the band's classic albums, including A Night at the Opera and Queen II, were recorded on Cadac desks, often at Wessex Studios.
Radiohead: The band purchased a Cadac G Series console previously owned by Wessex Studios and used to record the S*x Pistols. The band used this desk for OK Computer and other albums.
Rod Stewart: This singer and former Faces frontman also used Cadac desks for his studio work.
S*x Pistols: The landmark punk album Never Mind the Bo****ks, Here's the S*x Pistols was mixed on a Cadac console at Wessex Studios.
Supertramp: The progressive rock band used a Cadac console at Scorpio Sound Studios for albums like Crime of the Century.
The Who: This legendary British rock band also worked on Cadac consoles.
