RUGG has been touring “Flyswatter” for a while, so live show regulars will fondly remember throwing elbows to the infectious chord progression at the heart of the song. “Flyswatter” builds potential energy through the verses, driven along by the puncturing snare and meaty baritone guitar as Brendan’s voice bounces along. When the tension hits its climax, RUGG yanks the ripcord and dares you to dance with a wide-open chorus.
