Some of our students attended the BEA Festival of Media Arts this past weekend and were able to accept their well deserved awards in person!!

AppTV received the ‘Dr. Marjorie Yambor Television National Signature Station’ award. We are so proud of these students and everyone else’s hard work that contributed to AppTV receiving ‘Signature Station’.

Our Story

AppTV is Appalachian State University’s student-staffed television service launched on May 26, 2015. The station’s original programs offer something of interest to audiences of all ages and cover topics from sports to current events.

Students meet weekly to collaborate and create original content for the channel. For many students, AppTV is their first hands on experience with media broadcasting. However, faculty and staff from the Department of Communication assist students to produce content with a level of professionalism and excellence.
