We got Married a month and a half after I arrived in US, we decided not to apply immediately because I got pregnant a month after our wedding with a non viable pregnancy (ectopic) and had an emergency surgery in February 2026.
After compiling all the forms, important documents and evidences we sent our packet in May 2026. Got scheduled for Biometrics in Charlotte, North Carolina which is 3 hours and half away from us.
Two days after we got a notification that we were scheduled for interview on July 27, 2026 but unfortunately that date was not available for us to appear on interview because of prior planned vacation, so we called USCIS to reschedule it. Fortunately, we did get another notice that we were rescheduled for August 10, 2026 in Norfolk, Virginia 4 and a half hours away from us.
Interview Day at 8:30AM arrived at the application center 30 mins before the appointment. The documents they ask before you enter is your appointment letter and both you and your spouse's ID/Passport. They let you bring your phones but you can't take pictures/videos and they ask you to turn it off inside the interview room. You will both take an oath before the interview starts.
Questions ask:
- When did you arrived here in the US?
- When did you got married?
- How many are you in the household?
- What do we like to do for fun together?
- What's my husband's work schedule?
Review your answers on the YES or NO Questions in the I-485 Form because they ask that too.
It actually last like 15-20 mins.
In my experience my medical records was not in their data the day of the interview. The one the I submitted to IO on my port of entry in Dulles, Washington Airport (Sealed Yellow Packet) So I wasn't approved verbally.
So the interviewer sent an email to the National Records to retrieve or try to find my medical records.
The next day I received an email that they have approved our case.
Good thing they found it because if not I would have to do another medical here in US which cost around $500. After 2 days I got a notification that my "Card was Produced".
Thankful for everything, it is truly God's Plan not ours. Very much grateful for His timeline. 🙏
