THE WEEK AHEAD (11/30/25):
There are a few raindrops and snowflakes falling this morning, but our precipitation will be transitioning to all rain this afternoon for this afternoon and tonight. We are looking at some unseasonably cold temperatures many days during the coming 2 weeks and wind chill will be an issue. Be prepared to dress accordingly!
TEMPERATURES: Daytime highs are expected to be much colder for much of the coming first 2 weeks of December. Tomorrow is expected to have a high in the upper 30s, but daytime highs for the next 3 days will be around 30° and Friday will struggle to get above 20° much of the day. Saturday may get into the 40s for a high but the very cold weather returns Sunday. Overnight lows are likely to be in the 20s until Thursday night when we are likely to see our first night with single digit temperatures throughout the peninsula. We are likely to see a couple more single digit nights beginning next Sunday night.
PRECIPITATION: Rain today and tonight isn’t expected to amount to very much, under ¼ inch most likely. Our first significant snowfall of the season arrives Tuesday with heavy wet snow expected to fall through the afternoon and well into Tuesday night. Around ½ inch of precipitation is expected which is likely to yield around 3-5 inches of snow due to the heavy/wet nature expected. We could see another inch or so of snowfall on Thursday. Saturday could be stormy as well but it may be rain or a mix rather than accumulating snow. We’ll have a better idea about that come midweek.
WINDS: The coming week is expected to continue being fairly windy with Tuesday the sole exception. Winds most days are expected to be in the 10-15 mph range with gusts around 30 mph most days with higher gusts today and tomorrow. Tuesday winds are expected to be light, mostly under 5 mph, with gusts to around 15 mph.
MARINE FORECAST: A GALE WARNING is in effect for the period from 4PM this afternoon through 10AM tomorrow morning due to southwest winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt and seas 6 to 9 ft expected. Except for Tuesday, seas are expected to be at least 3 ft through Thursday.
TROPICAL ATLANTIC: The tropics are still quiet on this, the final day of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, with nothing expected during the next 7 days.
SPACE WEATHER: There is a REALLY big sunspot that will be facing earth soon. Expect reports of solar flares and potential auroras in the coming days.
