Meet the Girl Behind the Lens & Event Designs ✨📸
When you book a session or setup, I’m the one capturing and creating those special moments—my name is Erika Gonzalez, and I’m the heart and hands behind EG Media & Events.
I launched EG Media & Events in 2021, bringing my vision to life here in Borger, Texas. At 29 years old, I balance life as a stay-at-home mom to three beautiful kids while pursing my passion for photography and event design.
Creativity has always been a part of my life. From a young age, I loved decorating, crafting, and making things my own. My attention to detail led me to prefer creating unique pieces rather than buying them. Friends and family often turned to me for help with birthday party decorations or to capture their special moments in photos. I always said yes, finding joy in every project.
My journey into photography began after high school when my parents gifted me a Canon camera. At the time, none of us imagined it would spark a future business. I fondly remember being 15, filming playful music videos with my cousins and uploading them to YouTube—my first taste of editing and storytelling through a lens!
The true importance of capturing memories became clear after I had my first child. Monthly milestones, birthdays, and holidays inspired me to document every moment. My Canon camera was always nearby, and I dove into YouTube tutorials to learn new photography techniques, determined to make each photo stand out.
My love for decorating grew alongside my photography. Whenever a celebration approached, I was ready with a new DIY idea!
The turning point came when someone on Facebook needed a balloon garland and I was tagged in the post. Though nervous, I took the leap, decorated my first event outside my family, and got paid for my work. Word spread quickly, and soon friends, family, and their networks were recommending my services.
In 2020, professional balloon styling and designs was rare in my area. Encouraged by my family, I decided to turn my creativity into a business. I brainstormed names and ideas, and in 2021, EG Media & Events was established.
I am incredibly grateful for all the support I’ve received since starting my business! The encouragement from my family and community has been the foundation of my journey, helping me bring creative visions to life!
