Louisiana DOTD Spokesperson Erin Buchannon spoke to the South Bossier Lunch Group at Bellaire South this afternoon on the new bridge at Jimmie Davis Highway.

She did it! Congratulations to Parkway High School sophomore Addi Dupre.

Addi placed 4th nationally on floor and 7th on vault at the NGA National Gymnastics Championships. Over 200 girls from across the United States competed in her division.

Can we get a HUGE round of applause for our very own South Bossier retiring Captain Joe Thomerson?

Capt. Thomerson is retiring from BCPD after 31 years, and recently retired from the Air Force as well.

Congratulations Captain Thomerson!

Honoring Captain Joseph Thomerson.

Please join us in recognizing and celebrating Captain Joseph Thomerson, who will officially retire from the Bossier City Police Department this November after an incredible 31 years of dedicated service.

Captain Thomerson began his career with BCPD in 1994 and has since served with honor and distinction across multiple divisions, including Patrol, Detectives, Patrol Administration, Specialized Units, and as a Field Training Officer.

In addition to his law enforcement career, Captain Thomerson proudly served in the United States Air Force, retiring with 31 years and six months of military service. His dual service to both country and community is a remarkable testament to his character, dedication, and integrity.

Captain Thomerson has been a true asset to this department. His legacy of leadership, mentorship, and professionalism will continue to impact the Bossier City Police Department for years to come.

On behalf of the entire department, we extend our deepest gratitude and best wishes to Captain Thomerson as he enters a well-earned retirement.
