Our first contributor highlight of the year is here!

Xiaoly Li had her pieces Portrait of a Woman and You are a Mountain published in Pensive Issues 3 and 5 respectively.

A 2022 recipient of the Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Fellowship Grant in Poetry and published twice in Pensive, Li is a poet and photographer in Massachusetts. Prior to writing poetry, she published stories in a selection of Chinese newspapers. Her photography, which has been shown and sold in galleries in Boston, often accompanies her poems.

Her poetry has recently appeared in Spillway, American Journal of Poetry, PANK, Atlanta Review, Chautauqua, Rhino, Cold Mountain Review, J Journal and elsewhere; and in several anthologies. She has been nominated for Best of the Net, Best New Poets, and a Pushcart Prize. Xiaoly received her Ph.D. in EE from WPI and her Masters in CS from Tsinghua University in China.

This painting titled "New Dawn" is w/ Lichtundfire Lichtundfire in Manhattan, NYC where you can make an appointment and see my work with the gallery.

Today’s highlight: C. T. Holte grew up in Minnesota without color TV; played along creeks and in cornfields; went to lots of school; and has had gigs as teacher, editor, and less wordy things. He recently migrated to New Mexico and got a cool electric chainsaw for Christmas. His poetry has been published in Words, California Quarterly, Months To Years, Pensive: A Global Journal of Spirituality & the Arts Mediterranean Poetry, The Daily Drunk, and elsewhere and has been hung from trees to celebrate the Rio Grande Bosque. His poems “Christmas Cookies,” “Honey,” “Evolution,” and “Giving Thanks” are published in Capsule Stories Winter 2021 Edition: Sugar and Spice, now available in paperback and ebook.
