HEARTS OF OAK MANAGING DIRECTOR JULIUS BEN EMUNAH RESIGNS

Shocking news as Managing Director Mr. Julius Ben Emunah has resigned from his position.

Mr. Emunah, who was appointed on 2nd February 2026 replacing Dr. Delali Anku-Adiamah, has stepped down after just seven months in office.

In a farewell message posted on Facebook on Wednesday, September 9, he wrote:

"It is with a heavy heart that I announce my decision to resign from my position as Managing Director of our dear Accra Hearts of Oak. This has not been an easy decision to make."

He thanked the Board led by Togbe Afede XIV for the trust and confidence reposed in him, and also thanked the National Chapters Committee (NCC) led by Alhaji Yusif Abdulai for their support.

He added that although he is stepping down from his role, he is not stepping away from the club.

"I remain a proud and committed supporter and will always be available to serve, assist, or support the club in whatever capacity I can."

His resignation comes just days after Hearts started the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League with an emphatic 4-0 win over Berekum Chelsea.

Management of Accra Hearts of Oak has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to supporters for showing up in their numbers during the first game against Berekum Chelsea at Legon.

“To the unwavering supporters, we thank you for coming for our first game against Berekum Chelsea, let’s keep pushing for the best. As the MD and NCC chairman said, we can make the club great again.”

It was a beautiful sight at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium yesterday as some expatriates were spotted jamming to the famous Hearts of Oak Jama songs with supporters in the stands.

The foreigners, who were in the crowd to watch Hearts thrash Berekum Chelsea 4-0, couldn't hide their excitement as they cheered, sang and danced with the Phobians faithful.

Youngster Alex Banso announced himself in spectacular fashion as Hearts of Oak thrashed Berekum Chelsea 4-0 in their GPL opener at Legon.

The young talisman provided two beautiful assists to inspire the Phobians to victory, showing composure, creativity and maturity beyond his age.
