- The film was made on a budget of around $4 million, and grossed over $130 million worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing films of 1982.

- Bob Clark, the producer of "Porky's" also directed and co-wrote "A Christmas Story".

- As a result of "Porky's" success, Bob Clark was able to get the financial backing needed to get "A Christmas Story" greenlit for production.

So tomorrow is the big day for me I’m really nervous about it because it’s my first time never having cancer and having my kidney removed from my stomach not to happy that I’ll be so much pain for next two weeks or more. Yes I can survive without it and have to live with one kidney the rest of my life. So I would like all my friends and family at tomorrow morning please keep me in your prayers regarding my surgery for cancer in my kidney I’ll be in the hospital for 2-3 days and out of work for 5 weeks luckily me .
