Big news for Confidence of the Mob — the book is now approved for sale at Barnes & Noble locations nationwide 🎉
What started as a box of my Grandfather Fred G. Pastore’s documents in my mother’s attic has become a book you can walk into any B&N in the country and find on the shelf (once they ramp up supply, but it is in many stores now).
For a debut self-published true crime memoir about my grandfather’s secret double life as the IRS’s most feared mob hunter — this is a milestone I don’t take lightly.
Available at Barnes & Noble in-store and online. Signed copies available at upcoming events (some still available at the Burlington MA Barnes & Noble until gone)

To our Chicago readers and fans of our story.

Come meet our author Eddy Inserra at Barbara's Bookstores in Vernon Hills and view some historical documents from inside the IRS Intelligence Division regarding racketeers from the 1950's.

We will pull any documents from inside "The Box" that mention Eliot Ness, Elmer Irey, and Al Capone and add them to our "Evidence Board". That will be on display during the book signing.

Fred was in charge of the Bernard Goldfine case. More agents were assigned to Goldfine than Al Capone, and Fred was in charge. This case was a major win for Fred, but also sent political waves around the country, that no matter how politically connected you were, if Fred got your case, he’d follow the money to the end. This caused tension between Fred, Bobby Kennedy and President John F. Kennedy. Read about it in our book.
