That’s part of why we’d love to bring roller skating back to the city in a big way this summer.

The Downtown Worcester BID and the City of Worcester, Massachusetts are now seeking an experienced operator to run a weekly outdoor roller skating program at the Worcester Common Oval for Summer 2026.

We’re looking for a partner who can bring both strong operations and creative, community-centered programming to the table and help turn this into a fun, welcoming, high-energy summer tradition in the heart of the city.

The selected operator will independently manage a 10-week Friday night series from June 26 through August 28, typically from 6–9 pm, with room for themed nights, partnerships, and creative programming throughout the season.

The operator will be responsible for skate rentals, staffing, setup and breakdown, safety, sound and music, marketing, and overall program operations, and will retain all revenue from admissions and rentals.

Today, we pause to remember Sergeant Derrick S. Leto of the Worcester Police Department, who passed away on March 17, 2023. His service, dedication, and commitment to protecting others will never be forgotten. Behind the badge was a person who showed up day after day for his community—often in ways the public never sees.

As we honor Sgt. Leto’s memory, we are reminded of a truth that cannot be ignored: the weight carried by law enforcement officers is immense. Across Massachusetts and beyond, officers face not only the physical dangers of the job, but also the emotional and psychological toll that comes with it—trauma, stress, long hours, and the constant exposure to crisis.

For too long, mental health in policing has been a conversation pushed to the background. Today, we bring it forward.

It is okay for officers to not be okay. Strength is not measured by silence—it’s measured by the willingness to seek help, to talk, and to support one another. Departments, leadership, and communities all play a role in ensuring that those who protect us have access to the resources, peer support, and professional care they deserve.

At Crime Trackers Massachusetts, we stand with every officer who continues to serve while carrying unseen burdens. We encourage open dialogue, we advocate for mental health awareness, and we honor those we have lost by working to protect those still on the job.

Sgt. Leto’s legacy is not only one of service—it is also a call to action. To check in on one another. To break the stigma. To ensure that no officer feels alone.

We remember. We honor. And we continue the conversation.

We’ve been a little quiet lately — and for good reason.
Between fundraising season, the holidays, and laying the groundwork for some big things ahead, it’s been a full sprint behind the scenes.

Now it’s time to shift gears.

Our Snowbound Heroes Reintegration Program is officially opening for Winter 2026, and we are actively seeking applicants.

This program brings Veterans, First Responders, and those who have served alongside them into the mountains of New Hampshire for guided snowmobile reintegration trips focused on camaraderie, purpose, and reconnecting with life beyond service. No therapy. No pressure. Just shared experience, open trails, and community that understands.
