I don’t think I realized how deep I was in survival mode until I stopped caring about my hair. And if you know me, that’s saying a lot.

As a former hairstylist, my hair has always been a huge part of who I was. I’ve been coloring it and changing it up since I was a teenager so the fact that I went over a year without touching the color or cutting it should’ve been a pretty big clue.

After having three babies in three years, it just became one more thing I didn’t have the energy for.

And then there was the hair itself 😳

I’ve always had fine hair but I’ve also A LOT of it. It may not look like a lot but trust me, it’s deceiving. And before anyone comes for me… yes, I know a lot of people would gladly take that problem 🫣 But after each pregnancy, instead of postpartum hair loss, mine just kept getting thicker. It got to the point where there was just too much of it. It was heavy, it was overstimulating and throwing it into a bun every day didn’t feel like a choice anymore. I had to.

Obviously, I’m still a mom of 3 little kids so I’m still going to throw my hair into a bun most days. The difference is that now it just feels so much more manageable. When I want to wear it down, it actually feels like an option again. It doesn’t feel so heavy or so overstimulating anymore and that was really the whole point.

I think that’s what I’ve been realizing lately. Getting myself back hasn’t been one big moment. It’s really just been all the little things that have slowly started adding up.

So thank you, Alessandra, for doing what you do best. I’m especially thankful for the one hour escape from the chaos and the much needed giggle sesh 😊

Part ✌🏻of finally sharing my varicose vein treatment process from 6 weeks ago

Day 2 was honestly more annoying than painful. The compression sock, not being able to shower normally, trying to sleep in it and not being able to work out were really the worst parts.

And in a shocking turn of events for someone with ADHD, I did not properly read my post-op instructions and wore the outer bandage overnight when I was supposed to take it off that evening 🙃 Everything was totally fine but maybe learn from my mistake, read the instructions and take the bandage off before bed 🤦🏻‍♀️

As I mentioned in my last video, I had a hard time finding people sharing their actual experiences when I was researching this procedure. So I’m sharing the whole process and what recovery actually looked like for me.

Next up I’ll show what my leg looked like post-op at my follow up ultrasound. (More will be on my TikTok)

If you’re considering having this done or know someone who is, send this and my other videos their way 🤍

I’m about six weeks out now so it finally feels like the right time to share this 🫣

Varicose veins have been one of my biggest insecurities for years. They run in my family and after three pregnancies in three years, my odds definitely weren’t working in my favor. This procedure is just the first step. I still have a few more procedures ahead before my treatment is complete but it feels really good to finally be moving in the right direction.

This is just one small step in my “getting myself back” journey. It’s all part of becoming the healthiest, strongest version of myself 💪🏻

I also don’t think many people talk enough about varicose veins after pregnancy. From everything I’ve read and heard, it seems to be more common than I realized with back to back pregnancies 🤷🏻‍♀️

When I was researching this procedure, I had a hard time finding real people sharing what the process actually looked like from start to finish. So I figured I’d share mine. If you’re considering having this done or you’re just curious about what recovery is actually like, I hope this series helps.

I’ll be sharing much more of the recovery and healing process over on my tiktok, while keeping the highlights here 🤍
