We´re back for our second series of Arte en Casa, this time presented by Colectivo Americanas, a newborn artistic duo. For the artists in us who feel they have a lot left to say, welcome to Relatos de Desarraigo, Stories of the Uprooted.
For the places and people we´ve left behind, consciously or not, for the times we´ve been told who we are, for that 80%, 90% of us that we can´t translate.
For those of us who practice how to pronounce our own names in the mirror, the in-betweeners, the ones who travel every day in their dreams back to their roots...
Welcome. You´re home.
If you have art that tells the story of your uprooting (whatever that may mean to you.. land, love, family, language, gender...) please please send us your proposal in the link below. We´ll be telling our stories.
Join current Artist-in-Residence at Emerson College from Jardín, Colombia, Maria Cecilia Cardona, and I as we create an art refuge once again.

If you are submitting a proposal:
- PLEASE fill out the form with your proposal! This time we´ll be telling one cohesive story so make sure you submit ASAP so we can make sure to accommodate your art according to the overall theme.
- Your art can be in any form/medium/technique
- Remember your art must tell the story of uprooting, whatever that may mean to you. It can be as radical, political, personal, impersonal, disruptive, loud, or silent as you want it to. Think about what you´d like to share with a group of people who happened, by chance, to coincide in Boston. We come from everywhere, we are anything and everything. Show us something you´re proud of. It´s a free space, just remember you will be held accountable for the material you present.
If you are just going to experience other people´s art:
- Once again we´ll be having an entrance fee of $3 to cover expenses. If instead you´ll like to bring food or drinks, that´s awesome, just let me know beforehand!
- Please no hard liquor. We´ll be having beer and wine, but I´d also like to keep a safe space for those friends who don´t drink alcohol.
- If you would like to bring people, my only request is that you make sure all guests respect a safe space for all humans.

Regresamos con nuestra segunda serie de Arte en Casa, presentado por el dúo artístico recién creado, Colectivo Americanas. Para los artistas dentro de nosotrxs que todavía tienen mucho que decir, bienvenidxs a Relatos de Dessaraigo.
Para los lugares y las personas que hemos dejado atrás, conscientemente o no, para las veces que nos han dicho lo que somos, para ese 80%, el 90% de nosotrxs que no podemos traducir.
Para los que hemos practicado cómo pronunciar nuestros nombres en el espejo, los entremedios, los que viajamos todos los días en nuestros sueños de vuelta a las raíces...

Si tienes arte que cuenta el relato de tu desarraigo (lo que eso signifique para ti... la tierra, el amor, la familia, el idioma, el género...) por favor envíanos tu propuesta. Vamos a contar nuestras historias.

Si vas a entregar una propuesta:
- ¡POR FAVOR llena el formulario con tu propuesta! Esta vez vamos a contar una historia continua, así que asegúrate de hacerlo lo antes posible para poder acomodar tu arte dentro del tema principal.
- Tu pieza puede ser de cualquier forma/en cualquier medio/con cualquier técnica.
- Recuerda que tu pieza debe contar un relato de desarraigo, lo que eso signifique para ti. Puede ser tan radical, político, personal, impersonal, disruptivo, tan ruidoso o silencioso como quieras. Piensa en lo que te gustaría compartir con un grupo de personas que, por pura casualidad coincidieron en Boston. Venimos de todas partes, somos todos los tipos de personas. Enséñanos algo que te enorgullezca. Es un espacio totalmente libre de prejuicios, serás responsable del material que presentes.
Si sólo vienes a presenciar el arte de otrxs:
- Nuevamente estaremos cobrando la entrada a $3 para cubrir los gastos. Si quieres traer comida o bebida en vez del donativo, me parece perfecto, pero déjamelo saber antes.
-Por favor no traigas alcohol que no sea vino o cerveza. Quisiera respetar el espacio para aquellxs amigxs que no beban alcohol.
- Si quieres traer amigxs, sólo pido que te asegures que todxs respeten el espacio y a las demás personas.
