Sweet, crispy, and packed with the taste of Ukrainian childhood — Verhuny or Khrusty (хрусти) are sort of like donuts, but crunchier, lighter, and dusted in powdered sugar.

I still remember the smell of my mom making them early in the morning, warm and fresh for breakfast. Not exactly the healthiest choice — but so good you absolutely have to try them. 😄

The recipe is waiting for you in UA Chronicles Spring Issue.

💛🩵 Happy Independence Day, Ukraine!

35 years of independence. 35 years of building, creating, and defending who we are.

But Ukraine's spirit is not 35 years old. It is ancient — rooted in the soil, carried in the language, woven into every embroidered thread, every song, every story passed from generation to generation.

Thank you to every man and woman who defends Ukraine's independence — yesterday, today, and every day.

Слава Україні! 🇺🇦

💛🩵 Ukrainian Flag Day.

Two colors — a thousand years of history. Field and sky. Land and freedom.
We are proud. We remember. We fight.

💛🩵 День Державного Прапора України.
Два кольори — тисяча років історії. Поле і небо. Земля і воля.
Пишаємося. Памʼятаємо. Боремося. 🇺🇦

25-year-old Hanna Yatsyna has officially entered the Ukrainian Book of Records as the youngest Ukrainian woman to successfully summit Mount Everest — the highest peak on Earth. 🏆

Her journey to the top of the world began as a childhood dream. From a printed photo on a teenager's wall to standing atop the world at 8,849 meters — this is what determination looks like. 💪🇺🇦

Proud of you, Anna. You've shown an entire generation of Ukrainians that no summit is too high when you refuse to stop climbing. 🏔️🇺🇦

He wasn't Ukrainian. He didn't grow up with the language, the history, or the traditions.

But Andrew Ripley — an American volunteer in Scottsdale, Arizona Cactus + Tryzub — sat down at a Ukrainian storytelling event and walked away with something he wasn't expecting: a deep, lasting connection to a culture he barely knew existed.
His story is exactly why UA Chronicles was made.

In the early 2010s, a designer drilled thousands of holes into white Corian stone and pulled colored threads through them — following the logic of traditional Ukrainian embroidery. 🎨

That moment changed everything.

Inna Boyko traces how Ukrainian product design grew from a quiet local movement into a globally recognized art form — carrying a cultural code that is entirely, unmistakably Ukrainian.
