A new year, and new photos to show you who I am today! 🎉

I started to grow out my natural hair color in late 2022, as you can see from a few of the photos and stories I’ve shared since then. I thought it was time for an update on here, as my life and style have changed so much over the years. You know, as life tends to do.

I took these photos several months back, just before I started Invisalign! This was in my ‘old apartment,’ as I moved soon after. Breathing easier, quite literally, I’ll be posting and sharing more as I find more time, space and energy with myself, and around me.

It was very cool to see Millforge Makerspace come together at the Winsmith Mill complex in Norwood, MA. While I pulled together the , logo and , everyone else worked to build the makerspace, itself!

I took tours of the space during initial construction, just before its grand opening—and on the big day! I was even able to see the eight-foot sign go up on the side of the building, which was exciting.

Here, William Brooks shows me all the details in the space, and even some work! I also saw some younger helpers add their “hand” signature to the chalk wall, too. At a later date, Katy Bland-Brooks and I stand together in front of a wall she painted with a green saw blade, her work demonstrating the designated areas for different tools and equipment.

The building has spaces and equipment for all your maker needs, with more still in the works. It’s such a great open concept where, as they put it, “ideas become reality and the shared experience of making builds a supportive community.”

For the past year, I’ve been working with founder William Brooks and the team at Mill Forge Makerspace to develop the organization’s and , plus a robust brand book. I really enjoyed this project, and I’m so thrilled with the results!

For the , I created something that would speak to the target audience and convey that it’s a “makerspace” with all the tools, wood and forge-feel that comes with it. I think we achieved it! 💪

Interested in a clean website that is both accessible and responsive, I developed and designed a -based site—and love how this turned out.

Mill Forge Makerspace offers membership and events, with laser cutting, electronics, , metal work, 3D FDM and resin printing, laser cutting, and more. Mill Forge operates as a Massachusetts Public Benefit Corporation, and puts community at the forefront of everything they do.

I am equally thrilled to share the new book "Speak Her Name" by Mary Jumbelic will be released this summer! 🥳

I know Mary has put her time, effort and care into this memoir, a culmination of years of investigatory work as a forensic pathologist, and also introspection into her own life. It has been so exciting to be part of its creation, and an honor to help share her story, along with the stories of all the women within this book. 💗

We've already scheduled so many events throughout New York for the 2025 year, and are still planning more. You can learn about Mary and her forthcoming book on her website at https://maryjumbelic.com, where you can also join her newsletter for updates and pre-orders!

I am thrilled to announce that my new book "Speak Her Name" will be published at the end of June 2025! 📚🎉

Thanks to all of my patrons and followers for being part of my authorship journey. So many have asked me when my second book is coming out, and it is very motivating to me as a writer to know people are awaiting my stories. I am grateful to have dedicated and enthusiastic readers. This one is for you.

In the course of my work past and present, I aim to uncover the truth beneath the surface, providing answers to family and friends, while giving a voice to those departed.

In my 25-year career in forensic pathology, I have seen female bodies sexually violated, battered, stabbed, and shot. Their corpses dismembered. Some buried in shallow graves, others meticulously hidden. A majority of these deaths were caused by someone the women knew.

"Speak Her Name" gives these women a voice. I share their stories to bear witness to their pain, and to educate those still with us. I am stronger and wiser because of them, and I hope my growth as a woman will inspire and uplift you, too.

Each woman has something to say. Witness her. Hear her. Speak her name.

I'm so happy to share I've created new branding and built a matching website for the great Mary Jumbelic! See it live at maryjumbelic.com. 🥳

Mary is both a forensic pathologist and author who has spent her life balancing her work with her own life and family. Her first book "Here, Where Death Delights" gives glimpses into her life, highlighting the delicate balance between her personal and professional lives as she deals with the dead, the living left behind—and her own life.

Mary's visual communication, branding and website are a means to not only showcase her expertise and share her story, but also reflect that balance; she creates space for answers, empathy, and hope. With the use of chosen colors and type, design features and visual organization, space and weight choices, I think we achieved this.

Additionally, we wanted to elevate the presentation of her work to match the level of expertise she has demonstrated time and again around the world. Not only did we display the classic 'logo carousels' showcasing the prominent media outlets where she is featured, but her new 'Press' pages allow the viewer to watch, listen and read this media, immersing themselves in Mary's world to share in her wisdom of experience.

👉 I aim to help people find alignment in who they are and what they do. I greatly enjoy helping professionals share their story, building a brand that speaks to their audience in a clear and accessible way.

We really created something that aligns with who Mary is and all she does, which is now beautifully communicated to the world. 😊

For just over a year, I've been working with Mary Jumbelic, author and forensic pathologist! What started as work organizing and researching book events for her then-released memoir "Here, Where Death Delights" turned into building her a brand that truly reflects who she is, and all she does.

This photo of us was taken at her first Barnes & Noble event in March, paired with the very generous endorsement Mary wrote about me and my work. ❤

Soon, Mary's new branding and website will be live, the presentation of her work truly expressing its breadth and depth—and impressiveness—like her recent interviews on Dateline and with Oxygen, her audiobook release, and upcoming events!

Thank you, Mary, for the personal endorsement! It has been wonderful working with you. I learned so much about forensics, and the publishing world, myself. I look forward to helping you share what you create next! 👏

As we approach the one-year anniversary of my first book, I want to thank someone who has been a driving force behind my focus on sharing this journey with you all.

I didn’t know how much I needed Geena Matuson until we began working together. Now, I can’t imagine life without her. I had thought I wanted someone to coordinate a simple launch for my first book, Here, Where Death Delights. Geena did that and much, much more. She created a brand for me, Mary Jumbelic.

She is a patient and knowledgeable teacher. I have learned so much from her about promotion, social media, and the use of new technology (Airtable and Mailchimp, to name a few). She has done an amazing job getting the word out there, making my online presence professional. Plus, my newsletter is incredible. Geena uplifts and coordinates all of my content with engaging posts and photos, adding a creative digital spin to my stories.

Over time, I noticed my followers grew. Comments poured in. Sales increased. I am proud of it, and proud of what she has done to promote my book, my work, and me.

Geena Matuson is a multi-talented, creative, technical, and dedicated force bringing high energy to strategic planning, managing systems, brand content, and digital marketing. As a straight-forward communicator, she is the consummate professional, and I recommend her at the highest possible level.

I can’t wait to share some of the new things we’ve been working on come the new year. Soon, you’ll see my new branding and a new website to align with who I am, and what I do.

What’s more, I am proud of what we have accomplished together. Thank you so much, Geena—and happy birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day, and you continue to be celebrated.

I’ve always leaned towards the “October Theory” before it became a trend; my birthday is on the 26th, and so a review of the year around this time has always made sense to me. Plus, this gives me a few months to figure out what I want to do so I start the new year ‘right’ for me.

I haven’t done a ‘year in review’ in many years, it seems. In the last few years, I took down all my websites for a grand revamp as I figured out what I wanted to do, and how I wanted to share it all with the world. That includes figuring things out for me and my future.

This year, I launched my company Geena Media, and I’ve taken on numerous clients at once, including a coaching client! — which is very exciting. All of my other brands will follow along, like a revamp of The Girl Mirage, and new art to go along with it! 🎉

And after dying my hair for 18 years (a variety of colors, but most often a solid red), I had decided I wanted to learn more about my ‘color season’ and to see what my own hair really looks like on its own. Two years later, here I am; as you might have noticed, my hair is almost entirely its natural color! I have two very cool silver streaks, which started in my mid-20s. I’m still adjusting to how light my hair is overall. We’ll see how long this lasts, haha.

I’ve also done more with my “health and wealth” as I like to say, as vague a comment as that is. My mom is doing the same; we took these photos together at a church pumpkin patch in my hometown of Medfield, MA. 🧡 Thanks to the new pastor for these photos!

I plan on sharing more in the future - me, videos, thoughts and ideas. I have so many plans for the new year - but now, with ongoing work (and the societal need for money) - I’m prioritizing my needs first, and then my wants. What an absolutely novel idea, haha.

Thanks for sticking around and supporting me by being there, and sending some messages ;) now you can wish me a happy birthday! 🎂
