What if aging isn't something to fight… but something that could set you free?

I had the BEST conversation with Kat Miller, founder of Age Freely, about breaking free from ageism, embracing impermanence, and discovering the possibilities that come with getting older.

And her attitude toward trying something new at 70? “Whee, let’s go!” 😂

YES! is absolutely right. The new wave of influencers are going to be 60+.

Here are 15 creators over 65 I love following - folks who are creating, teaching, inspiring, and showing us what’s possible at this meaningful stage of life.

Because the best role models don't make us wish we were younger.

They make us excited about what's ahead and what's possible. ✨

Who would you add to this list?

For years I was afraid to tell people how old I was.

I spent 8 years mentoring startup founders and often found myself as the oldest person in the room. The funny thing? The younger founders didn't care. They thought I was fascinating.

I was the one carrying the fear.

On my 66th birthday, I decided to stop hiding. I posted a photo holding a sign that read "Route 66" and wrote a LinkedIn post called Don't Be Caged By Your Age.

The response changed my life.

People shared their own experiences with ageism, while others inspired me with stories of building meaningful, vibrant lives after 65.

That moment led me to create the Don't Be Caged By Your Age podcast, where I interview remarkable people 65+ who are proving every day that life doesn't shrink with age - we expand.

I'm now 69, turning 70 in just a few days, and my mission is simple:

Don't Shrink with Age. Take Center Stage.

So I'd love to know...

How long has the world been enjoying the gift of your presence?

Share your age (if you'd like!) in the comments. Let's celebrate every decade together.

What if your next chapter is waiting behind a door you haven't opened yet?

At 75, my guest Mary Foerster is still saying "yes" to new adventures.

She's been a librarian, legislative advocate, corporate executive, Realtor, Rotary leader, ballroom dancer, and now the host of her own podcast.

One of my favorite things she shared was this:

Keep all those doors open. Every single door."

YES!!

Our conversation is a delicious reminder that aging isn't about shrinking our lives - it's about staying curious enough to discover what comes next.

We talk about:
✨ Reinvention after 70
💃 Ballroom dancing and finding love
🎙️ Launching a podcast at 75
🤝 The power of community
🏡 Creative ways to age in place
❤️ Finding new ways to fuel our passion, purpose, and pocketbooks

If you've been wondering whether your best years are behind you... this episode is for you.

Why does contribution matter so much as we grow older?

That question is at the heart of my conversation with David McNally on this week's Don't Be Caged By Your Age podcast.

David reminded me that our purpose doesn't retire, it simply changes how it shows up.

We can mentor.
We can encourage.
We can create.
We can learn.
We can keep making a difference.

As long as we're alive, we still have something meaningful to contribute.

I hope you'll join us for this beautiful conversation about becoming an Inspired Elder.

🎉 Welcome to Episode 100 of Don't Be Caged By Your Age! 🎉

When I launched this podcast in March 2024, I never imagined the incredible guests, conversations, and community that would grow from it. Thank you for being part of this journey.

I couldn't think of a better guest to celebrate this milestone than musician Ray Toole.

Ray spent more than 30 years working as a train conductor while keeping music as a lifelong passion. Then during COVID, he picked up his guitar again, and everything changed.

Today, Ray is the creative force behind The Yellow Room, where musicians from different generations come together to perform, learn, and inspire one another.

One of my favorite moments from our conversation?

Ray shared that he believes he's a better musician today at 65 than he was at 25.

How cool is that?!

This episode is about music, creativity, mentorship, second acts, and why life's too short for someday.

If you've been putting off a dream, a hobby, or a passion you've always wanted to revisit, this conversation is for you.

✨ What if your best chapter is still ahead of you?

Too often, women are told to slow down, play it safe, and fade into the background as they age.

My guest, Ali Miles-Jenkins, says absolutely not. 🙌

In this inspiring conversation, we talk about:
💫 Reinventing yourself after 60
💫 Challenging age stereotypes
💫 Building confidence and purpose
💫 Pursuing new dreams and passions
💫 Thriving instead of simply aging

Your age is not a limitation. Your experience is your superpower.

What happens when you return to the memories you buried for more than half a century?

In this episode of Don't Be Caged By Your Age, I had the honor of speaking with Mario Cartaya, 74, acclaimed architect, Cuban exile, and author of Journey Back Into the Vault: In Search of My Faded Cuban Childhood Footprints.

Mario left Havana at age eight when his family came to America in search of freedom. Decades later, after building an extraordinary architectural career and creating a meaningful legacy, he found himself pulled back toward the memories of his childhood and the country he left behind.

This conversation explores identity, resilience, creativity, memory, reinvention, and what it means to come full circle later in life.

One of my favorite takeaways:
✨ Mario's stories about his grandparents, and how their talents and advice helped him become the man he is today.

If you’ve ever reflected on the experiences that shaped you, or wondered how your past continues to influence your present, I think this episode will deeply resonate with you.

Wishing you a delicious day, everywhere you GLOW - cheers from Boston!

“I lost my phone!”

…said no one in the 1970s. 😄

Back then, if your phone disappeared, you checked the kitchen wall.

Or tracked the cord into a closet where a sibling was hogging the phone.

And how much would I have LOVED a Tiffany Blue rotary phone?!

But here’s the thing I think younger generations sometimes miss about us folks over 60:

We didn’t grow up with technology handed to us.

We learned it.
Adapted to it.
Reinvented ourselves alongside it.

We’ve lived in BOTH worlds:
☎️ analog and digital
📼 cassette tapes and Spotify
🗺 paper maps and GPS
📷 film cameras and smartphones
📞 rotary phones and FaceTime

That doesn’t make us “behind.”
It makes us incredibly adaptable.

In many ways, folks over 60 are tech legends.

We remember life before the internet… and we figured out how to thrive after it arrived.

That’s resilience.
That’s flexibility.
That’s intelligence.

And it’s one more reason we should never underestimate older adults. 🔥

Wishing you a delicious, pro-aging day, everywhere you GLOW... cheers!

FULL. CIRCLE. MOMENT. ✨

I’ve been a devoted follower of Karen Salmansohn’s work since 2012.

Her quote posters?
Pinned ALL over my Pinterest boards for years. 😊

Her work has always felt different to me - smart, funny, visually gorgeous, deeply meaningful, and wildly honest about what it means to be human.

So interviewing Karen for Don’t Be Caged By Your Age was such a thrill.

And wow… this conversation goes deep in the best possible way.

We talk about:
👟 her “90-year-old self” exercise
💥 dissolving ageist beliefs
🖤 mortality awareness
✨ living more intentionally
📘 and her beautiful new book Your To-Die-For Life

This episode isn’t about fearing death.

It’s about finally giving yourself permission to LIVE.

To stop waiting for “someday.”
To stop shrinking.
To stop postponing joy, creativity, truth, and purpose.

Honestly? I think this may be one of the most meaningful conversations I’ve had on the podcast.
