We are deeply saddened by the passing of Rep. Ann-Margaret Ferrante, whose leadership was essential to building a strong film and media industry in Massachusetts. Her unwavering support for our industry, and the people and local businesses who power it, made a true and lasting impact. She was a generous supporter and friend to MPC and our community. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, colleagues, and constituents.

Ann-Margaret Ferrante passed away peacefully at her home in Gloucester on November 27, 2025, after a long journey with pancreatic cancer.

What a day at our 5th Annual Student Media Summit!

In late October, students from 13 colleges and universities across Massachusetts came together for the Student Media Summit — a full day of connection and creativity featuring a Careers in Media panel led by young industry professionals, a “Crew Up” networking lunch, and a live Pitch Fest where student filmmakers presented their projects for cash prizes.

Thank you to Northeastern University College of Arts, Media and Design for hosting and supporting this year’s summit — and to all the students, faculty, speakers, and mentors who made it such an inspiring day!

Participating schools: Bentley University, Boston University, Bridgewater State University, Emerson College, Endicott College, Fitchburg State University, Lasell University, Lesley University, Middlesex Community College, Northeastern University, Suffolk University, Tufts University, and UMass Lowell.
