Two amazing bluesmen from Mississippi who couldn't have been more different from each other, on one radio show in Cambridge in 1964! With a little help from Al Wilson. I'm guessing this was all brought about by Mr. Dick Waterman

Mississippi John Hurt (with guest Al Wilson) and Skip James each play a few songs and talk with Phil Spiro on WTBS-FM (Cambridge, MA) c. October 1964...follo...

Over the years while working with my teachers Paul Rishell, Annie Raines, and Woody Mann... I learned a lot about country blues- learning songs and what they meant to history. I have always appreciated and liked listening to the lyrics but when I tried to sing them, it didn't feel like I was singing my truth. So I have written songs inspired by country blues but with my own electricity of truth running through them. I finally got the chance this year to work on my first ever album! This will help kick start my passionate and genuine career. I have started this fundraiser to get me the funding that I cannot provide for myself to make this dream come to life. I have 10 more days to go of the fund raiser and $4,681 more to raise. Once the album is released and funded, a percentage of the proceeds will go to a selected charity! My intention in music (and in my Yoga teaching) is to give, to inspire, and to help others transform themselves. So I'll I need is 2 handfuls of you to pre order the album and them I'll be SET! I thank you for your tiem and support! Click below to pre-order! xoxo

Listening Class Today at 2 PM - Sweet Home Chicago: Blues and Urban Migration. We'll listen to country blues and city blues, which are eerily similar. Hardly anyone thinks of Robert Johnson when they hear a band blasting out "Sweet Home Chicago" - here is the original: http://youtu.be/O8hqGu-leFc
