I feel like a podcast mic is missing from that side table 🎙😅

There are a TON of new friends here so I though I would take this chance to introduce myself if we haven’t met yet. My thanks to for featuring The Feminine Genius Podcast in her recent post 🥰

🇨🇳🇨🇦 I’m a proud Catholic of Chinese descent, currently living in Vancouver, Canada!

😇 Current holy men and women I am learning more about: (the newly canonized) St. Charles de Foucauld and Servant of God Catherine Doherty! Both powerful spiritual masters!

🙏🏼I’ve recently been praying with the raising of Lazarus from the dead (John 11) as I’ve been preparing for a series of talks I’m giving tomorrow for — please pray for all the youth who will be present at their annual Youth Expo!

✨ As I have shared recently, I’m currently on hiatus and praying about what God is calling me to next. While I want to share, God is calling me to be patient 😅 How can I say no to the Lord? Please pray for me as I consider next steps!

And just like that, The Feminine Genius Podcast turned 3️⃣ years old yesterday! 🥳

It has been quite a busy last few weeks since season 4 wrapped up—so much so that it wasn't until I had a conversation with a friend this morning that I realized that it was our podcast birthday on June 1! 🎉

When I started this podcast three years ago, I had no idea where God would take it. Certainly I had my own dreams and thoughts, but God took them even further than I could have ever asked for. Particularly in those times where I wanted to take control of the process, God beckoned: "Do you trust me?"

Over the past three years, through the stories of over 100 women, God has repeatedly called me to deeper trust. He's shown me countless examples of what that looks like: in sickness and in health, through storms and sunshine, in joy and in grief. To be a witness to how God calls these women to deeper trust, and in turn how that challenges me to lean into Him more, is a big responsibility and a calling that I am so grateful for!

There's still a lot more in store, as I know God isn't finished with me yet! Stay tuned for a ✨season FIVE✨later this summer!

For now, THANK YOU for continuing to listen, subscribe, and share how various interviews have impacted you. It means to world to be able to be a small vessel of God's glory, living and active, in our world today!

Today, I'm pleased to share the season finale for season 4! As I share in this episode, it's been the most international season, very celebratory with the 100th episode milestone, and also a very personally unique season of life for me. I wouldn't have had it any other way, and so here I am -- COVID voice and all -- sharing how much this season meant to me and also what's up ahead for the podcast.

To be clear: the podcast isn't going anywhere! But as I parse through some personal challenges and changes that are happening in my personal life and my family's life, the hope is to take some time to really pause and pray about where God is calling me next, plan the next season, and come back refreshed and ready to share more incredible stories of feminine geniuses with the world.

Until then, I am incredibly grateful to all the ladies of this season, and in a particular way I am grateful to for her helping with some editing of some episodes this season.

I'll be back soon with new episodes, and will be present on here during this time of hiatus. Please pray for me, and know of my continued prayers for all of you ❤

Micole Amalu, founder of the non-profit organization , was sharing 🔥 in this latest episode! Each of us have our unique gifts and talents, and we also have our own struggles and journeys. For many, mental health and the suffering that can come with it will be the cross we carry.

In Micole's own journey towards holiness, she found herself grappling with answering the call to be a saint while struggling with her mental health. And in her words, "God is much more kind and merciful than I am... He's not asking me to become a cookie-cutter saint that looks pious all the time in the way that I have envisioned at times, but has to do with the very real landscape of my life, which includes anxiety and depression."

There's a careful distinction to be made here that Micole highlights: God doesn't give us mental illness. He doesn't give or force suffering onto our lives. We also don't choose suffering for ourselves either! But in the midst of the very real challenges and difficulties of our lives, God can and will use this for His glory. It becomes a beautiful part of our story, and also one that can inspire and impact others.

Whenever I meet people and hear their stories, I am always so grateful for their witness. I'm especially grateful for Micole's journey and how God has been merciful to her, so that now she can be another face of mercy to others ❤

🧠❤️ Many of you know that mental health is a huge part of my journey and walk with Christ. For a long time, I struggled to find healing from past trauma and other struggles, but didn't feel like I could find that healing in the Church.

💛 It's thanks to resources like TheFaceofMercy] as well as incredibly supportive and good Catholic resources, therapists, and community that have helped me to find my place in the Church and reclaim my first identity as a beloved daughter, suffering and all. Micole Amalu, who founded The Face of Mercy, is no stranger to this work and has devoted a lot of her energy, time and heart to helping to raise more awareness and education for the intersection of mental health and faith in the Catholic Church.

Today, we talk about what we the Church can do to support others with mental health, what inspired her to go into this work, and why it's important for each of us to be the face of mercy to one another, following in the footsteps of our heavenly Father who is mercy and love to us!

✨ Our First Identity is Daughter of God — with Jill Simons ✨

We often hear this term a lot—at women's conferences, talks, and podcasts, too—about being God's daughter. How that is our first and primary identity before anything we do or anything people say we are. And for Jill Simons, who I had a chance to sit down with late last year, I met her at a time in her life where she was still exploring this, well into living her vocation and finding her niche in the world.

The beautiful thing about our lives is that we are continually growing and changing. We will never fully know it all. There's something about that fact that is really scary. But for Jill, she saw this as an opportunity to go deeper, being challenged by the Lord to seek Him first. She dug in deep and did the hard work, and the journey continues.

I loved our conversation on seeking joy, sharing our God-given talents with the world, and also what it means to stop hurrying and worrying—because let's be real, we all need a bit of slowing down in our fast-paced world so that we can take a breath and check in with the one who first gives us our identity ✨

Hi dearest friends, happy Saturday! It’s my birthday today (yay!) but because I came down with miss ‘rona you can imagine it’s not your typical celebration. I’m in good spirits and on the mend, but it certainly was not how I thought I would spend a birthday.

The Lord is faithful though. All throughout today I’ve been feeling His presence drawing me even closer to Himself. This really is the greatest gift I could ever be given, and He gives me multiple: the gift of another day and another year, the gift of being loved by Him, and the gift of being His hands and feet on this earth.

It’s hard to forgo the ability to celebrate with family and friends when I can’t leave my room. But God is with me, and that is enough this year.

🎨It was so beautiful to hear Rakhi McCormick, the artist behind , talk about her art, inspiration, and overcoming the voices in her head telling her not to carry on.

💭Rakhi shared that in junior high, she had a teacher that told her “not to bother with art” because she wasn’t totally understanding some of the fine arts concepts at the time. But over time, through finding her own style and uniting this work with the Lord, something beautiful emerged. This talent first given by God was developed through Rakhi’s practice, hard work, and determination. Now, the joy she puts into her art is the joy that comes through—and it is the same joy extended to all of us as we encounter it.

Conversion is an ongoing process of growing deeper in love with God. We may have the head knowledge of what God is or what God does for us, but He always invites us to go deeper and to learn more about who He is. He never tires of loving us and helping us see who we truly are.

I loved listening to Maria Raissa Espinoza of share this powerful moment for her when she felt His love in a personal way. In fact, it’s one of my favourite parts of this podcast: to hear stories of women radically set aflame with love for God, and invited into a beautiful mission with Him to set the world aflame with love. ❤️‍🔥
