A criminal QTPOC elder living in Berlin, Germany, Cyan was born and raised in Alaskaโadvocating for *your* right to party since 1979. They love being Arab Jewish, medically trans, and a collection of paradoxes. By day, a gothic Borg Queen; by night, an extremely sleepy kitten.
In 2010, they discovered Butoh, a contemporary Japanese dance, and have since collaborated globally on performances, workshops, residencies, and films. A longtime Buddhist practitioner, their meditation/dharma study group, Weirdos Only Meditation, recently turned ten.
Their private practice, The Illuminated Body, focuses on Pilates, meditation, Somatics and DBT for trauma recovery. Not buying into capitalist messaging around consume, work, repeat, you can also find them visiting friends and lovers in all four galaxy quadrants.
This anthology is their debut publication! Their stories are bodycentric, often dealing with themes of otherness, neurosis/trauma, and familial structures. They're preoccupied with transformation, ontological and epistemological questioning, and the care and feeding of monsters in our personal oceans.
