7 Vermont Towns to Visit This Fall that are still NOT named Woodstock and Stowe
Vermont is so much more than a handful of a towns and Instagramable spot. It’s filled with so much to explore, especially in the fall. While Woodstock is particularly charming, there’s plenty of other places to visit, So here are 7 more favorites.

East Burke. One of my favorite towns to stay in Vermont. It’s close to everything in the Northeast Kingdom and is such a picturesque town itself. The annual fall foliage festival is one of my favorite fall activities. Coffee shops, Autie DeeDees and a bunch of other great spots for food, You can drive the Burke Mountain Auto Road for amazing views of the Kingdom and New Hampshire.
Craftsbury. Founded in 1789, Craftsbury is one of Vermont’s oldest towns, and Craftsbury Common in particular is one of the most picturesque village greens in the state. Before moving to New England, Craftsbury Common is what I always pictured. A quiet, classic side of the Northeast Kingdom.
Chester. Way off the radar, this small town has a cute Main Street, old churches, and historical stone buildings — and I can pretty much guarantee you won’t see a single hat-wearing influencer here. Near the Baptist Church, there’s a stone wall lined with large pumpkins in the fall. Nominated as one of the prettiest “Painted Places” in America, Chester is a great place to visit.
Newport. Vermont’s own Newport sits right on Lake Memphremagog, with a compact downtown built on a small peninsula jutting out into the water. A boardwalk along the lake connects downtown to the city marina and Gateway Center, and it’s a fairly large town by Vermont standards, with plenty of places to eat and a great home base for exp
