Jameson Will Pay You $50 to Take Off Work St. Patrick's Day

In concept, Jameson Irish Whiskey's campaign elevating St. Patrick's Day to a paid holiday (#SPTO) is a fun one. But offering consumers less than the $7.25 federal minimum wage appears out of touch and sends the message that Jameson thinks consumers can afford to live on $50 a day. For just $10K more, they could have paid 500 consumers a more progressive $15/hr minimum wage and avoided that baggage.

Jameson is dedicating the month leading up to Saint Patrick's Day to getting people to take SPTO (Saint Patrick's Time Off). The company will even give $50 to 1,000 people to cover the cost of their St. Patrick's Day festivities.

Building networking skills as a public relations professional is crucial. I mean, hey, PR is all about building relationships, right?

For this week's #BostonPRGirl blog post, I chatted with award-winning PR expert, Adam Ritchie of Adam Ritchie Brand Direction, who shared his best tips for networking as a student and/or young PR professional.

I still remember that first time I met Adam at a local networking event almost two years ago. His networking skills stood out from the crowd.
