What I Haven't Shared!
Some of you may already know, Most Do Not. A few weeks Ago this Happened! Truth is This WAS one of the scariest Moments in my life and lately I feel as if I've experienced too Many! (and at times are ready to throw in the towel -so to speak) But this isn't about me.
My Husband is the Hardest Working Man I know he gives 100% EVERY day, day After day! He goes above and beyond in Everything he does, and I'm Not being Biased, From the way he Carries himself, the Lessons he Teaches, the Love he gives, the Work he does and to Friends & Family 💕
What he Doesn't Do, is Take Very Good care of Himself!
So after A Long Week of Outdoor Work w**d whacking for Hours on end, as a Massage Therapist I pulled out my Chair to Help ease his aches & pains! What I Didn't Realize is that He Also hadn't been drinking an Adequate amount of water and was Extremely Dehydrated (as an MT We know how crucial this can be).
Everything was going as Normal I started by using my massage gun loosening up his back, arms, shoulder and chest, then went to work Like Normal, but it had been a long time since his last massage and all the Hard work he'd been doing was caught in his shoulders and neck (again pretty normal for him).
So Probably 10-15 minutes in he commented that he felt nauseous so I backed off what I was working on and moved to another spot as he made the same comment again I Stopped and had him sit up straight (though his legs were still wrapped in the chair) He said "I feel like I'm going to throw up" and PASSED OUT! Lying against my chest I was holding him, so to support him Not falling out of the chair to the concrete ground. I kept calling his name he was still breathing at this point but I couldn't Move him, He's a Big man compared to me! But he wasn't responding then he clinched his jaw stopped breathing and I was in Complete Panic Mode! No One Around but I kept Calling his name Louder & Louder Slapping his chest Still Holding him up. He takes a BIG Breath in, BUT that wasn't the End. He then started to Seize (He's Never done this Before) and at that point other workers around heard Me and All of them came Running to Our need. THANK GOD! He finally was breathing but had the Look of NO Life in his face or Eyes. I'm still holding him up. He comes to, what seemed like forever and is clammy, dazed and sweating. I finally have help to move him, we set him in a chair where he then throws up, the ambulance is called and he is taken to the Hospital! (I must tell You, this Has happened before But NEVER this Bad!)
After a night in the hospital a heart monitor, a sleep test, 3 bag of IV fluids the ONLY answer we got was this:
He was EXTREMELY DEHYDRATED, was Overly Relaxed his Vegus Nerve was Stimulated (🤷🏻♀️) causing him to pass out he lacked Blood Flow to his brain being in the massage chair that caused him to seize (they say the "non dangerous" kind) But He was "OK"!
They said the massage Did Not cause this, But he's No longer allowed to have Chair Massages! Meanwhile I'm still trying to cope with it all.
In ALL My years of Practice I Have NEVER Experienced this! So according to him the moral to this Story is STAY HYDRATED and Always Drink water Before & After any massage ❣️
Mine is PLEASE take Care of Yourself! You Are Loved Beyond Measure and I'd Be Lost without You!❣️
