two months from now, Leia will be turning 4 years old. she’s always been my little wolfdog, my fireheart 🍁❤️‍🔥

she’s especially matured this last year and prefers to spend her day napping in her chair, or trotting along on a hike with plenty of shade + water (I don’t blame her.)

taking today to remind myself that despite every grey hair, change is good.

⬩⬩ the fall equinox happened just a few days ago, but it already feels well-past the summer season. although, when there’s water involved, it doesn’t matter what temperature it is.. the dogs always end up going in! (fearless creatures, these two.)

the times might be changing, but it’s good to see not much has changed 🍂✨

I’d wake up early every morning just to observe nature’s work turning soft & sweet in the sunlight, melting to gold in a moment’s notice.

little E played in her second Toss & Fetch world championship frisbee tournament this weekend with dog dad! I loved getting updates while I was out of town — she might be small, but she brings some big energy & heart.

one year later ⋆☀︎.☼

Labor Day weekend, our yearly tradition hiking at sunset.

a lot has changed. (and, a lot hasn’t.)

I like to think we’re on a path that’s winding, sometimes uphill, sometimes gliding down easy. the joy is found in every little twist & turn along the way.. good thing my guides are always with me.

enjoy the hike that is life, and hopefully your views looking back will be worthwhile.

entering into our favorite season 🍁🍃

~ summer into fall ~ means more cozy months, cool mornings & hikes with our friends as things slow down. I’m rejoicing in the transition, the way the air smells, the colors starting to burn shades of gold.

and Eden is nearly 21 months, which seems crazy to me — the fact that I had a life without her before. I do love the energy she’s brought to our little pack, which we affectionately refer to as “the spice of life.” she’s matured into such a lovely little dog and I can’t wait to continue maturing together — somehow, this season already feels like a big warm, welcome home.

to love & be loved

it seems that these are the hallmarks of a good life, of stories to tell, of attempts made to reap what we sow.

we surround ourselves with souls that set our own on fire.

may we all continue to love
with the wisdom it holds
and never let go
of the ones who return it.

because the cooler weather
still allows for an occasional dip
in the lake

but winter is a close second…
