This has been a long time coming. Laura and I have always wanted to own and operate a coffee shop and while we’re not quite there yet we did take that first step and started roasting coffee. It’s been a long time coming…. years in the making. Back and forth debating if we should buy an already established business or create one on our own. We opted for the latter.
The name of our company is O.W.L Coffee Roasters which stands for One World Linked. Today our website went live (link in bio) and we’re proud to offer 4 different speciality roasts all freshly roasted at our house in the mountains above Boulder, Colorado.
Like cooking or baking, roasting coffee is about timing, patience, and precision. Managing the heat, data, and watching and listening to the bean throughout the roast is merging science and intuition.
It’s a way for us to engage deeply with our craft, explore flavor, and deliver something truly special.
But coffee is more than just a beverage—it’s a bridge. It invites conversation, creates space for community, and helps people feel seen.
That belief became even more personal when Laura began volunteering with Meals on Wheels of Boulder County—an organization she first encountered at age 7 with her Granny.
After stepping away from a job she held at CU for a decade, she found herself searching for purpose again. The act of showing up, delivering meals, and meaningful conversations with her clients, reminded her just how powerful human connection is—and how many people are living without it.
This experience has inspired our mission: to roast coffee that not only tastes incredible, but also creates an opportunity to connect—whether through a shared cup with a neighbor, a thoughtful gift to a friend, or a warm moment with a stranger.
We’re proud to offer thoughtfully roasted beans—because we believe that great coffee can link one world, one story, one community at a time. Give us a follow and try out a bag of our freshly roasted coffee if you’re into that type of thing.
