šæ Reflection Mode: One Step at a Time šæ
If thereās one thing Iāve truly come to understand over the last few years⦠itās that phrase people love to throw around ā āOne step at a time.ā
It used to feel so clichƩ. Now? It feels like a map.
In just four years, Iāve gone from housewife to multifaceted force ā but let me be clear ā it didnāt happen overnight. It happened one uncertain, terrifying, exhilarating, stubborn little step at a time.
In 2021, I was married and living in a state Iād only visited once or twice. I knew maybe a handful of people, all in-laws. My days were filled with tending to the home ā decorating, cleaning, cooking, folding, organizing ā all the things that are supposed to give you a sense of pride and purpose. And I tried⦠I really did. I created in any way I could: painting, crafting Dollar Store finds into something new, hanging records from my favorite musicians on the wall, playing piano and singing to fill the silence.
But underneath it? I was lonely. I was bitter. I was craving more.
And eventually⦠I realized I had to be the one to take the next step. No one was coming to do it for me.
So I broke my childhood crushās heart⦠again. And I moved home. And then I started over. And started over⦠and over. The drawing board became a familiar place. But each time I went back to it, I carried the lessons from my last steps with me.
Iāve learned that my creativity has a place in this life.
Iāve learned how to say āNoā ā my favorite version being, āI donāt think thatās something I can commit to.ā
Iāve learned what real self-love looks like.
Iāve learned that I am the main character of my story, and a side character in countless others.
Iāve learned that Iām never going to be a āone-directionā kind of person ā and honestly? I love that about me.
Every chapter, every pivot, every āstart overā moment⦠itās all part of cultivating the life I desire. And when a chapter ends? Itās because Iām ready to step into the next one.
⨠So wherever you are ā stuck, thriving, restarting, or questioning ā just take the next step. One step at a time⦠it all adds up. āØ
