**Ring Of Fire Pattern Possible Next Week**

A cold front is on the way for Thursday, after that we will cool down for a few days. Then the heat will try to move back into the region, but we will be just on the edge of the heat dome. Showers and storms often develop on the leading edge of the heat dome and those storms move clockwise around the large upper level high pressure center. When the upper Midwest and Great Lakes area gets on the northeast side of a heat dome, we typically get thunderstorm complexes to develop that can produce a lot of rain, lightning, and occasionally high winds. The early maps show this pattern developing for several days next week. This could lead to above normal rainfall.

TIMING: Here is a timing map that illustrates when the window for the arrival of strong to severe storms arrives in your area! The further east you go the lower the risk and the greater the uncertainty that storms will maintain severity. The best chance for strong to severe storms is in the blue and orange shaded areas.

Also, the colors here are not correlated to any severe risk colors from the SPC. We simply chose these colors to highlight the different zones. The last time we posted a timing map there was a high amount of confusion so understand the colors are to highlight different zones in a vibrant color to help you find your home easier.

Last but not least, this map does not show when the storm window ends. This is to help you understand when storms have the best chance of arriving based on the latest guidance. Download our free Ohio News & Weather app to stay ahead of the storms! - 10:20 AM 7/12/2025
