The Boynton Beach Police Department responded to a bank robbery at the Chase Bank, located at 4740 North Congress Avenue around 12:40 p.m. on Thursday, June 11. Upon arrival, officers met with bank employees who reported the suspect entered the bank, demanded money and threatened employees if they did not comply. The employees complied with the suspect’s demands and provided him with over $10,000. Witnesses provided a description of the suspect and a possible getaway vehicle described as a white van.

While officers were responding to the bank, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office advised BBPD Communications that a white Sprinter van had just been reported stolen from the City of Greenacres.

BBPD detectives assigned to the PBSO Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) obtained a photo of the vehicle theft suspect and determined he matched the description of the suspect involved in the bank robbery. The stolen van was later located by PBSO CAT and the suspect, 59-year-old Clifford Montague, was taken into custody in Palm Beach.

Montague was positively identified as the individual responsible for the bank robbery and subsequently provided a full confession.

Clifford Montague has been charged by BBPD with Robbery and Grand Theft. Additionally, PBSO charged Montague with Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Burglary and Driving without a License. Montague is currently being held at the Palm Beach County Jail.

BBPD communications received reports of a shooting in progress near the 2000 block of North Congress Avenue around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10. Upon arrival, officers located 44-year-old Frisner St. Cyr of Lake Worth suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Department arrived and transported St. Cyr to a local hospital as a trauma alert.

The initial investigation revealed that St. Cyr arrived on scene and used his vehicle to block another vehicle where his ex-girlfriend and a friend were sitting. St. Cyr exited his vehicle and immediately fired a round of gunshots through the blocked vehicle’s windshield. Both victims inside the car fled the scene on foot as St. Cyr continued to pursue and fire multiple rounds through the parking lot. While being chased by St. Cyr, one of the victims returned fire, striking St. Cyr once in the chest. The two victims were not injured and hid inside nearby businesses until officers arrived.

Frisner St. Cyr has been charged with Attempted Murder with a Firearm, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. St. Cyr is currently listed in critical condition but is expected to survive his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

Just before 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, Boynton Beach Police Department Communications received a request for assistance from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) regarding a traffic stop involving a suspect with an active burglary warrant. FHP advised that during the traffic stop, the suspect dragged a State Trooper down the road, crashed the vehicle and fled on foot near 1000 North Congress Avenue.

BBPD Road Patrol Officers immediately responded and established a perimeter while the Real Time Crime Center deployed a drone to assist with the search. BBPD K-9 Argo was deployed and quickly picked up a track that led officers through the Renaissance Commons area. Throughout the search, multiple witnesses reported sightings of the suspect, helping officers narrow the search area.

A short time later, BBPD K-9 Ash located a white shirt with blood stains, believed to have been discarded by the suspect. Officers then received information that the suspect was in the nearby SeaLofts Drive area. Responding officers arrived and located 34-year-old Devontea Stubbs who surrendered without incident.

Stubbs was taken into custody and charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding with injury or damage, fleeing and eluding while failing to obey law enforcement commands, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, driving while license suspended, burglary, and petit theft.
