After surviving the Titanic, Margaret “Molly” Brown, forever known as “The Unsinkable Molly Brown,” became a familiar face in Palm Beach, tying her story to South Florida. While staying at The Breakers in 1925, she faced disaster again, helping others escape as the iconic hotel burned. For Brown, Palm Beach wasn’t just a winter retreat — it became the setting for yet another legendary chapter.

Dania Beach, Broward County’s first city was founded by Danish and Swedish immigrants. This South Florida community grew from wilderness into a booming agricultural hub. By the early 1900s, it was producing thousands of railcars of tomatoes each year. But when saltwater intrusion destroyed the crops, the town was forced to adapt—and it did.

From farming powerhouse to the antique capital of the South, Dania Beach proves that resilience and reinvention are at the heart of America.

🌱 Thriller = a tall focal plant 🌸 Filler = plant that adds texture and color to fill in the space 🌿 Spiller = plant that cascades over the edge of the pot

In this arrangement, Rooted in Florida host Jeannie Schmidle and Florida Nursery Mart’s Phil Andescavage use native plants like coral honeysuckle, tropical sage, Elliott’s lovegrass, lyreleaf sage and swamp twinflower to create a container garden that’s both beautiful AND pollinator-friendly.
