James Howells, an IT worker from Newport, Wales, made one of the most expensive mistakes in digital history when he accidentally threw out a hard drive in 2013 containing the private keys to 8,000 Bitcoins. Despite having detailed recovery plans and funding ready, his attempts to excavate the landfill were denied due to environmental and legal restrictions....
Over the years, Howells proposed using AI-powered drones, robotic search systems, and even offered millions in recovery incentives, but local authorities stood firm. Their refusal was based on policy and the assertion that anything dumped becomes legal property of the landfill. After a decade of campaigning, James has now officially ended the search—marking the end of a real-life digital treasure hunt that could’ve changed generations of wealth....

Denny DeLaittre joined us this morning to tell the Kavalry about his raffle that supports the Trooper David DeLaittre Memorial Park outside Three Forks.

David lost his life in the line of duty on Dec 1, 2010 at 4:20pm where the memorial sits today.

We learned this morning that Robert Redford has passed away at the age of 89. Of course, one of his most famous movies was filmed here in Bozeman, A River Runs Through It. He didn't appear in it, but directed it.
