Reminder: We don’t do kings here.

This Saturday, we’re hitting the streets for the NO KINGS national day of action. Why? Because billionaires don’t get to run the show, and wanna-be authoritarians don’t get to rewrite the rules of democracy.

📅 When: Saturday, June 14 at noon
📍 Where: Main Street, downtown Bozeman between Rouse and Willson (NOT at the courthouse this time!)
🎯 Goal: A line of people stretching the length of Main Street. Signs. Singing. Cheering. RESISTING WITH JOY.

We’re not here to argue with trolls. We’re here to show up together, loud and clear:

No kings. No billionaires. No authoritarian nonsense.

✊ Peaceful. Joyful. Unignorable. See you there.

How does a child come to kill a child? The British miniseries “Adolescence” tells the story of a 13-year-old boy who is suspected of killing a girl at his school. “Once you finish the first episode, the whodunnit element of ‘Adolescence’ has been dealt with,” Doreen St. Félix writes. “The question it poses, and refuses to resolve, is why.”

“The creators of ‘Adolescence’ think of the contemporary English boy as a breakable creature, abandoned by society,” St. Félix continues. “No one has taught him how to manage his incipient sexuality; no one has taught him how to cope with rejection. Interestingly, the feeling of abandonment mirrors the animating force of the nastiest parts of the American manosphere: the belief that men got left behind.” Read her review of the show: https://www.newyorker.com/culture/critics-notebook/the-flawed-heart-of-adolescence?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=dhfacebook&utm_content=app.dashsocial.com%2Fnewyorkermag%2Flibrary%2Fmedia%2F514774819

We cannot be truly alive without maintaining an awareness of death.
Death is not waiting for us at the end of along road. Death is always with us, in the marrow of every passing moment. She is the secret teacher hiding in plain sight. She helps us to discover what matters most. And the good news is we don't have to wait until the end of our lives to realize the wisdom that death has to offer. ~Frank Ostaskeski and the book, The Five Invitations

Choose to love. Love is more about us being loving than about other people being lovable. In fact, choosing to love is twice loving: it's a loving act to call up the intention to love, plus there is the love that follows.
