If you ain’t first, you’re last! -Reese Bobby
On a serious note it was a couple good days behind the rifle. Knowing you have the skills and implementing those skills are two different things. When you get both aligned great things happen and I had the lead all the way till the last of 20 stages. Needing a clean I unfortunately couldn’t find the long range raccoon and had to skip one of the two targets dropping four on the last stage. A solid kick in the nuts but if that’s not life I don’t know what is. Dust yourself off and keep on going. And as my wife said, “Why do they even make 2nd place trophies?” Haha!! I love that and agree although 2nd place is nothing to snub your nose at so I still wanted to share a bit of my weekend.
I did a solo podcast on the way home recapping the weekend so listen to that if you are into that kind of thing. A few pieces of gear that really shined this weekend for me was the new barrel that Jaden from spun up. Having a great barrel makes a big difference and that was apparent. Also, the 3-section carbon legs from keep my gun light enough for Open Light and also just kick ass in such a wide array of positions. From prone to tall modified prone they really are damn solid and easy to adjust to varying terrain. And finally I got to test some new binos from and they’re real sick.
And last but not least, thanks to and his team for putting on a killer course of fire and to all the awesome shooters and people I got to meet and talk to this weekend. Shooting guns is fun but without great people it wouldn’t be something I enjoy nearly as much.
