1. Extend the antenna: Make sure it’s fully extended and pointing toward the sky.
2. Get a GPS lock: This is essential for Isatphone 2 and Thuraya phones, they cannot operate without acquiring a GPS position. Be patient, if the phones hasn’t been used in a long time, this can take a few minutes
3. Move to an open area: Satphones DO NOT WORK INDOORS. Avoid buildings, trees, or obstructions that can block the signal.
4. Reconnect manually: Restart your phone or re-register with the satellite network.
5. Verify coverage: Confirm you are within the coverage area for your satellite provider, especially if using Thuraya, which has reduced its coverage.
6. Don’t be in a moving vehicle if you are using an isatphone: Only Thuraya and Iridium phones can be used while on the move without a dedicated docking system. Isatphones require a vehicle mounting kit to be used on the move.
7. Make sure your account is activated and provisioned: Contact Satellite Phone Store to check
