Have you been impacted by the flood?

If you or your family have been impacted by the recent flood in McCulloch County and surrounding area, Concho Valley Together will work side by side with you to help identify challenges and potential barriers you may be facing as you move through the recovery process/rebuilding process.

To ensure continued long term recovery and help flood survivors access the support they need, Concho Valley Together has partnered with World Renew, a global disaster response organization that provides needs assessments, case management, and long term recovery support after disasters to assist with collecting needs assessments in Brady, Menard, and San Angelo.
Case management is a cooperative team from McCulloch County Long Term Recovery and Concho Valley Together.

Impacted households can either complete the unmet needs assessment online or in person at the Reaource Center:

Updates to road closures in Pct. 1 and Pct. 3: No roads are currently closed in Precincts 1 but many locations have experienced severe washouts. Crews will begin repairs as soon as conditions are dry enough for equipment to safely operate.
In Precinct 3, particularly around Lohn and Pear Valley, water has receded in most areas but has left behind several dangerous washouts. The Saddle Creek bridge on County Road 330, north of FM 765, is currently impassable.
Please use extreme caution when traveling these routes, and avoid any area where roadway damage may not be immediately visible.

Heavy rain has returned to McCulloch County over night Sunday into Monday morning, and with that comes travel issues on farm to market and county roads.
Pct. 1 Commissioner Carol Anderson has reported a partial culvert washout on CR 130 and significant road washout damage along CR 158 behind the Brady Landfill.
Pct. 3 Commissioner Rod Young has reported significant water across the road in the Lohn Valley area, and urges specific caution on roads between Lohn and Pear Valley.
A flood warning remains in effect until 8:30 a.m Monday morning, but clearing up by noon, with Sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70’s after noon. Caution is urged on county roads and low water crossings until water subsides.

Update 2 on Pct. 1 roads from Commissioner Anderson: As of 3:00, CR 138 East of Melvin is closed at Brady Creek Bridge location is closed due to water over the bridge. Brady Creek bridge North of Jacoby’s (CR 138 North) is open for now. We will monitor as needed. There are many areas of FM 2028 with rapid water over the road

UPDATE: Pct. 3 Commissioner Rod Young has informed the Brady Standard-Herald the County Roads 312 and 314 - East of Hwy 283 in the Northwest area of McCulloch County are completely impassible and closed. FM 504 is open, but caution is urged at the low water crossings.

Pct. 1 Commissioner Carol Anderson has reported significant rainfall in the western portion of McCulloch County between Hwy 190 West and Hwy 87 North. With more rain on the way, low water crossings are already starting to rise and travelers are urged to use caution.
Doppler radar currently shows the rain heading through Pct. 1 and Pct. 3. moving Northwest.
Rain chances are currently 100% through this afternoon, with 60% overnight. Flashfloods and Flood advisories are in effect throughout the day.

🚛 Solid Waste Update
Our team has identified the necessary repairs for our trash trucks and has already secured the parts needed to get them back up and running. Crews are working diligently, and we expect to resume normal operations tomorrow.

While this timeline isn’t guaranteed, we remain fully committed to transparency and will keep you updated as repairs progress. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to keep Brady moving smoothly.
