This is for the atheist out there...
Imagine a cosmic archeologist dusting off the bedrock of humanity, only to find that every time a group of early humans sat around a campfire, they were all busy doodling the same invisible "Customer Support" line to the universe. Whether they were wearing feathered headdresses in the Andes, togas in Rome, or silk robes in the East, they all independently decided that the thunder wasn't just weather—it was a grumpy giant upstairs rearranging the furniture. You have these isolated tribes, separated by entire oceans and zero Wi-Fi, yet they all simultaneously looked at the sunset and thought, "That’s definitely a celestial neon sign, and we should probably start a complex tax code and a dance routine to keep it happy." It’s as if human brains all shipped with the exact same pre-installed, highly suspicious "Big Picture" software, leading every culture on Earth to independently build a different, elaborate headquarters for an agency that no one else had ever even sent an email to.
Across the vast expanse of human history, one of the most striking anthropological constants is the independent emergence of religion in nearly every isolated civilization across the globe. Despite being separated by thousands of miles, treacherous terrains, and thousands of years of human development, cultures ranging from the high-altitude civilizations of the Andes to the river valleys of Mesopotamia and the dense rainforests of Southeast Asia all developed complex spiritual frameworks. This global phenomenon suggests that the drive to imbue the universe with meaning—to explain the mysteries of existence, the fury of nature, and the inevitability of death—is an intrinsic component of the human cognitive architecture. Whether through the worship of elemental forces, the veneration of ancestors, or the establishment of moral codes governed by divine entities, disparate societies independently arrived at the same conclusion: that there is a realm beyond the tangible, and that understanding it is fundamental to the human experience.
