Meet Luke!

Luke is a new addition to the Performance Press team! Luke is a 2022 graduate from the Media Design Technology program at Southeast Tech. He also has 4 years of freelance design and photography prior to his schooling. Luke has a special interest in print because he likes to his work out in the world and in others hands.

Meet one of the owners! Steve Carlson!⁠

Steve is co-owner with Tim Mallatt. Steve has been and continues to be the co-owner of Performance Press for 15 years and counting. He began his printing career 47 years ago and has loved it from the beginning. He has experience with every aspect, from bindery and running the printing presses to business management. He likes the constant variety, and after 46 years continues to learn something new everyday. He enjoys working with his employees and the business’s customers.⁠

Tim Mallatt has 25 years and counting of experience in the printing industry. After 8 years in the industry, he took a break from the printing business to explore other opportunities. In 1998 he returned to printing. Fast forward to 2006 when he and business partner, Steve Carlson, combined their many years of experience to start Performance Press.⁠

This past year we celebrated 15 years as a commercial printer in the Sioux Falls Region. While we reflected at what 15 years has taught us, we also were able to define what remains the same as day one.

The four pillars of Performance Press:

Respect: We think you should get the respect you deserve. We also believe we should always respect our fellow co-workers.

Enjoyment: We have found, when people feel respected, the process of completing a project is so much more enjoyable. Happy people always help everyone have a better day!
