Each year, Rebecca Wolf and her team at Brandon High School partner with Make-A-Wish Mississippi to host a pep rally that raises funds for a Brandon student living with cancer. This year’s wish recipient is Brayden Doyle, an incredible 11-year-old and bright 6th grader at Brandon Middle School.
Brayden was diagnosed with autism at just one year old, and in November 2024 he was also diagnosed with malignant melanoma of the scalp and neck. Despite these challenges, Brayden continues to shine in his everyday life. He loves playing Roblox, riding his scooter, and spending time outdoors with his niece and neighbors. His playful spirit and resilience bring joy to everyone around him.
Brayden’s one true wish is to visit Walt Disney World so he can experience the magic, adventure, and fun with his family by his side.
Each year, the goal is to surpass the amount raised in previous years—and as always, the Brandon students showed up in a big way. This year, they raised an incredible $8,278.17 to help make Brayden’s wish come true.
Although Brayden wasn’t able to attend the pep rally, the teachers, principals, and students put on an incredibly entertaining event. From the teachers vs. students basketball game, the Minute-to-Win-It challenges to performances by the cheerleaders, dancers, and drumline, and the principals crazy costume contest, the energy in the gym was amazing. The event was expertly led by the wonderful MC, Emily Hildebrand, and the pep rally was truly a huge success.
