Branford High Science Teacher Victoria Climie Named Branford Public Schools Teacher of the Year for 2025!

"The only thing better than finding what you love, is getting others to love it too," Climie told The Buzz.

Mrs. Climie's path to the classroom is quite unique. She spent the 1990s in Africa and Madagascar as a zookeeper and research assistant, working to save critically endangered primates like the black-and-white ruffed lemur. Her time there was transformative, realizing that teaching was a profound act of service and grit.

Now, she brings that incredible perspective to her students in courses like Anatomy & Physiology and ECE Medical Terminology. Her philosophy? "What I realized is that for many students, learning has to be deeply individualized," Climie tells us.
