🕊️ JUSTICE FOR MANNY — THE TRIAL HAS BEGUN

After more than a year of questions, heartbreak and searching for answers, the case surrounding 16-year-old Jordan “Manny” Collins Jr. is now headed to trial.

Manny was last heard from in the early morning hours of May 8, 2025, while he was staying with his father, Jordan Dupree Collins Sr., in Columbia Heights. His mother, Ashley Berry, reported him missing four days later after she could no longer reach her son.

Manny’s disappearance sparked a massive search. Investigators eventually turned their attention to the Waste Management landfill in Elk River, where human remains were recovered on June 28, 2025. DNA testing identified the remains as Manny.

According to the criminal complaint, investigators found what appeared to be blood on items inside the Columbia Heights apartment, and DNA testing later matched that blood to Manny. Surveillance footage also helped investigators focus their search on the landfill.

An autopsy determined Manny died by homicide. Court documents state that the autopsy found evidence of decapitation by knife. (Fox 9⁠)

Manny’s father, Jordan Collins Sr., 39, is charged with second-degree murder in his son’s death. He has pleaded not guilty, and the allegations against him will now be tested in court. The criminal complaint does not state a motive for the killing. (Fox 9⁠)

Jury selection began Thursday, September 10, in Anoka County. The trial is expected to last approximately four weeks, with more than 90 potential witnesses listed as possible testimony. (Fox 9⁠)

But behind every court document and every piece of evidence is a mother who has had to live with the unimaginable loss of her son.

So you may have heard about Kevin Reddington but WHAT DOES THIS ACTUALLY MEAN?

You may have seen the headlines about attorney Kevin Reddington, the defense attorney who recently represented Lindsay Clancy, facing four counts in a formal disciplinary petition filed with the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers.

But here’s where the wording matters.

🚨 Does this mean he’s been found guilty of professional misconduct?

No.

It means the allegations are serious enough that a formal disciplinary petition has been filed and the matter is now part of the attorney-discipline process.

The petition is real.
The allegations are officially before the Board … But there has not yet been a final determination that Reddington committed the alleged misconduct.

One of the four counts involves former Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia II, who previously accused Reddington of attempting to renegotiate his legal fees shortly before Correia’s 2021 federal trial.

The other three counts involve unrelated clients and allegations concerning client funds and record keeping.

So what happens now?

The allegations go through the disciplinary process, and ultimately the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court can determine whether discipline is appropriate.

And that discipline can range from a private warning all the way to disbarment, depending on what is ultimately established.

👉 In other words: this isn’t a rumor being thrown around on social media. There is an actual disciplinary petition.

But it’s also not a final finding of wrongdoing.

⚖️ BBO FILES 4 COUNTS AGAINST LINDSAY CLANCY ATTORNEY KEVIN REDDINGTON

Massachusetts defense attorney Kevin Reddington, who recently represented Lindsay Clancy in her highly publicized murder trial, is facing a four-count formal disciplinary petition filed with the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers (BBO).

The petition was filed June 23, 2026, by Bar Counsel. The BBO investigates attorney misconduct, while the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ultimately determines whether discipline is imposed.

One count involves allegations made by former Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia II, who claimed Reddington attempted to renegotiate his legal fee shortly before Correia’s 2021 federal fraud and corruption trial.

Correia said he and Reddington had verbally agreed to a $150,000 flat fee plus expenses. After a superseding indictment expanded the case into a complex federal corruption prosecution, Reddington acknowledged attempting to collect additional fees, arguing the scope of the defense had changed.

Correia was ultimately convicted of 21 federal counts, including extortion, wire fraud and tax fraud. Several charges were later dismissed, leaving 11 felony convictions, and he was sentenced to six years in federal prison.

The disciplinary petition also alleges that $3,000 from another client’s trust account was used for Correia’s legal services.

The remaining three counts involve unrelated clients and allege issues including misuse of client funds and inadequate record keeping.

Reddington strongly denied Correia’s previous accusations, calling him a liar. Correia had filed grievances with the BBO in May 2024, and the current disciplinary petition incorporates allegations related to those complaints.

If the allegations are proven, potential discipline under Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court rules can range from a private warning to disbarment.

Reddington was also recently in the national spotlight as Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney. Her murder trial ended in a mistrial after the jury deadlocked following hours of deliberation.

An attempt was made to obtain comment from Reddington regarding the disciplinary petition, but he had not responded at the time of publication.

Nolan was like a brother and best friend to him. He always has something good to say. He has never seen Nolan picking an argument with anyone . He had a sweet heart.

In eighth grade it was Covid year and we got close . Nolan was usually at his house or someone else’s. They were never hanging at Nolan’s that’s where they got tight and close. He said 4th of July everyone’s going out to horn island. When you live on the gulf it’s what we from Ocean Springs liked to do. He stayed with Nolan at his buddy house. He went to McDonald’s . The boat was loaded down with ice and ready to go when he got back.

They all planned for 20 to 30 to split between three boats people had planned at his grandparents to get together. He said there was easily 1000 people on Horn Island. Nolan rode out on the triton with a few other guys about 8 total. Warren and Bart rode out together with the girls. On another boat. There was 3 boats heading to horn lake to have a good time . They all pulled up at 1030am and there were so many out there already. When they arrived and tied the 3 boats together. He said the West side a lot of people park because most enjoyed west side most. He said many in there group knew the island and visited other times as well.

Remembering Manny & Following His Case

Jordan “Manny” Collins Jr. was just 16 years old when he disappeared from Columbia Heights, Minnesota, on May 8, 2025.

Manny had been staying with his father, Jordan Dupree Collins Sr., near the 4900 block of University Avenue Northeast. His mother reported him missing after she stopped hearing from him. Investigators soon said they believed Manny’s disappearance was against his will and feared he had come to harm. (CBS News⁠)

The search continued for weeks.

Investigators eventually received information and video evidence indicating that something connected to Manny may have been placed in a dumpster near his father’s apartment and transported by garbage truck to the Waste Management landfill in Elk River.

Authorities searched the landfill for weeks. On June 28, 2025, human remains were recovered, and DNA testing confirmed they were Manny. (CBS News⁠)
