If you’re craving something bold, soulful, and completely different from the usual Cleveland dining rotation, King Tut – Egyptian Street Food in Brecksville is such a hidden gem.

From the first bite, you can tell this is food made with tradition and intention. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor, layered with warm spices and that unmistakable Mediterranean comfort.

The Vegetarian Falafel was one of our favorites. Crispy on the outside, warm and soft on the inside, and paired with a creamy tahini sauce that pulled everything together. The texture contrast alone makes them addictive.

The Grape Leaves, served hot and stuffed with ground beef, were rich, savory, and deeply satisfying. You can taste the slow-cooked seasoning in every bite. They weren’t just good — they felt homemade in the best way.

The Fava Bean Foule plate was bright and tangy with lemon and parsley. Earthy fava beans balanced with citrus makes this dish both grounding and refreshing at the same time. It’s simple but incredibly flavorful.

We also had the Red Lentil Soup, which was comforting and hearty without being heavy. Perfect balance of spices and warmth — the kind of soup that feels nourishing from the inside out.

Now let’s talk about the eggs. The boiled and pan-fried eggs are a completely different experience than what most people are used to. The texture, the seasoning — it’s such a humble dish elevated by technique and flavor.

And dessert? The Konafa is an absolute must-try. Traditional Egyptian pastry made with delicate filo dough and cream, soaked lightly in syrup. It tastes like a beautiful cross between flan and pancakes — soft, slightly crisp, sweet but not overwhelming. It’s the kind of dessert that makes you pause after the first bite.

We finished with Egyptian coffee, bold and aromatic, the perfect ending to a meal that feels like a culinary trip to Cairo without leaving Brecksville.

If you love Mediterranean-style dishes and want something authentic, vibrant, and full of depth, King Tut delivers. This is not fast food — it’s street food elevated with tradition and flavor.

Highly recommend.

Pinstripes – Pinecrest, Ohio

Pinstripes at Pinecrest delivers an experience that goes well beyond food. It’s polished without being stuffy, social without being chaotic, and built for everything from date nights to group celebrations. Italian-American comfort meets modern energy — and it works.

The space itself sets the tone. Warm wood, clean lines, and an upscale yet inviting atmosphere make it feel like a place you can settle into. Add in the bocce courts and bowling lanes and you’ve got a restaurant that encourages people to linger, not rush out.

🍝 The Food
Pinstripes leans into Italian-American classics done with intention. Pastas are hearty and well-balanced, sauces rich without being heavy, and portions generous enough to share — or not. The menu is approachable but elevated, making it easy to please a mixed crowd.

🥩 Standouts
From perfectly cooked entrées to crowd-pleasing appetizers, the kitchen delivers consistency — which matters when you’re feeding both foodies and families. Everything feels thoughtfully prepared, not mass-produced.

🍷 The Experience
What really sets Pinstripes apart is how seamlessly it blends dining and entertainment. You can enjoy a full meal, then roll straight into bocce or bowling without missing a beat. It’s ideal for birthdays, celebrations, business gatherings, or casual nights out when you want something more than just dinner.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pinstripes Pinecrest is a win for anyone looking for great food, a lively atmosphere, and an experience that feels special without trying too hard. A solid go-to for Northeast Ohio dining with built-in fun.

Both are fantastic—light, fluffy, golden, and full of that homemade comfort you want from a true breakfast spot. Whether you’re team pancake or team waffle, La Pete’s delivers the kind of plate that tastes like it was made with care.

Valley Pizza Co. — Valley View’s Pizza Paradise

If you’re searching for a place where pizza isn’t just food but an experience, look no further than Valley Pizza Co. on Canal Road in Valley View. This take-out only gem delivers big flavor, fresh ingredients, and thoughtful offerings that will thrill both casual diners and serious food lovers alike.

Soups that surprise & delight
Every day the kitchen rotates a lineup of freshly made soups: comforting classics like chicken noodle and chili, rich clam chowder, a chicken paprikash soup that hugs you from the inside out, hearty regular and vegan lentil, and the always-classic Italian wedding soup. Each spoonful is proof they care about more than pizza—they care about flavor and variety.

Pizza game on point
The highlight, of course, is the pizza. Whether you opt for the wood-fired round pie or the Detroit-style pan (that thick, rectangular caramelized crust? Yes please), every bite bursts with flavor. The wood-fired pizzas hit that sweet spot of perfect consistency—just char where you want it, chew where you want it—and the toppings, sauce, and crust all balance beautifully. This could be one of the best pizza spots in Greater Cleveland.”
With a Detroit-style pan pizza offering (thick, crisp, edge-to-edge cheese, caramelized crust) they’ve skillfully added a second dimension of pizza love.

Extras that matter
They haven’t forgotten the details: gluten-free options ensure no one’s left out, and there’s even fresh cookies baked in-house for that sweet finish. And the soups, as mentioned—they’re more than a sidekick, they’re a worthy prelude.

Take-out only may sound simple, but Valley Pizza Co. elevates it. Every bite reflects craftsmanship, care, and a love for dough, fire, and flavor. If you’re in the Valley View / Greater Cleveland area and want pizza done right—this is the place to call.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Bold crust. Fresh soups. Bursting flavor in every slice. Valley Pizza Co. delivers.

Agostino’s Bistro on Mayfield Road – Where Italian Heritage Meets Culinary Mastery

Every once in a while, a restaurant comes along that doesn’t just serve food — it serves legacy. Agostino’s Bistro on Mayfield Road is one of those rare gems where history, family, and passion intertwine to create a dining experience that feels both timeless and new. 🇮🇹✨

The story begins in Calabria, Italy, in the early 1950s, where a young Chef Antonio Gallo discovered his love for authentic Italian cooking. When he later journeyed to Cleveland, Ohio, he brought with him not just recipes, but a philosophy — that food should be simple, soulful, and crafted with only the finest ingredients.

In the 1980s, Antonio and his son Joe Gallo opened the first Agostino’s Ristorante, a name that would become synonymous with excellence. For 23 consecutive years, Agostino’s was recognized as one of Cleveland’s Top Italian Restaurants, earning a devoted following for its authentic cuisine, impeccable service, and the unforgettable flavor of Antonio’s legendary sauce — a recipe so perfect it continues to live on in his honor.

But the story doesn’t end there — it expands.

Enter the Porcelli family, whose culinary roots stretch back more than a century, from Ethiopia to Rome. Frank and Sergio Porcelli grew up immersed in food culture: their parents ran an open-air market café in Asmara, Africa, while their uncle owned a hotel and restaurant in Rome, Italy. When the family eventually arrived in Cleveland, they brought their heritage with them, opening Porcelli’s Fine Dining in Little Italy — a place where elegance met authenticity.

After years of perfecting their craft, Frank opened La Tavola Bona, and Sergio opened Porcelli’s Bistro, both continuing their family’s tradition of culinary excellence. It was fate — and friendship — that brought them full circle with the Gallo family. Frank attended St. Rocco’s and Cleveland Central Catholic with Joe Gallo, and their shared passion for food, family, and tradition led them to merge their talents and reopen Agostino’s, this time as a collaboration of two Italian dynasties.

The result is nothing short of extraordinary.

Every dish at Agostino’s tells a story — a blend of generations, continents, and cultures unified by a shared love of good food. From the handmade gnocchi, to the organic, locally sourced ingredients, every bite bursts with authenticity and intention. The pizza dough is divine — airy yet crisp, proofed to perfection, and kissed by just the right amount of char. Specials rotate often, showcasing recipes inspired by both families’ heritage — blending the rustic heart of Calabria with the refined flavors of Rome.

This isn’t just dining. It’s history served on a plate — a story that began in the cobblestone kitchens of southern Italy and continues in the heart of Cleveland, lovingly carried forward by families who never forgot their roots.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Agostino’s Bistro — authentic, organic, handmade, and overflowing with heart. A true celebration of Italian heritage, Cleveland style.
