🐇 Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit

The Goodwitch’s Cottage Folklore of Luck and Renewal

When the first dawn of a new month blushes against the horizon, an old whisper stirs —
“Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit.”
Said before any other word, it is a charm for good fortune, a breath of blessing carried through time.

From the hearths of old English cottages to the moonlit meadows of faraway lands, people have greeted the month with this simple spell. Rabbits have long been symbols of renewal, abundance, and the gentle turning of the earth’s magic. They burrow deep into the soil — the sacred womb of life — and rise again with the dawn, much like the moon that governs tides and time.

It is said that country witches of ages past would murmur these words to the hares who kept them company, asking the moon’s favor upon their harvests and hearts. In later centuries, travelers and children alike would carry the saying across oceans and generations — a soft superstition turned timeless ritual.

Some traditions add a reply at day’s end:

> “Tibbar, tibbar,”
to seal the charm backward as the sun sinks low.

Others say “White rabbit” for purity and protection, or “Hare hare” to call prosperity’s spirit forth.

But in every version, the meaning remains the same:
A greeting of luck.
A blessing of renewal.
A small act of magic spoken between breaths.

So when the month turns anew, rise with the dawn and whisper to the morning mist:

> “Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit — for good luck, for joy, for the path ahead.”

And may fortune, like the rabbits of the field, multiply kindly in your favor.
