Hi all. How are we weathering the after-Christmas slump? I'm hunkered down against a howling, frigid, snowy wind nursing my second malady of the holiday stretch. My ginger tea is doing the job, though, and I'm anxious to get to the studio later this week (next year!) to pack up the charter mailing of Silverpenny Post!
If you'd like to get in on the fun and receive your surprise snail mail package for January, there's still time to subscribe. Each month you'll get an artfully-packaged frame-able greeting card that's never been released, a letter from my studio, and a "li'l paper treat" delivered to your mailbox. It's going to be a great pick-me-up during the dreary winter days ahead, so gift yourself a year's worth of stationery delights!

I think everyone has received the postcards I sent to my repeat customers, eNews subscribers (those who read and requested), supporters, close artist friends and charter Silverpenny subscribers, so here's a pic without spoiling the surprise. Merry Christmas to all!

I've been snuggled in at home all day watching the wind whip up and the rain threaten to freeze. I did make it out for a walk with the dog, however, and the fresh air did me good!
I still have some shopping to do and lots of wrapping. My printable gift tags come in handy for that. You can find them in my shop as an instant download!
How's your holiday prep going?

Came across this illustration today from a duo of designs I created a few years ago. I tinkered with the colors a little bit. Praying for comfort, especially, for those who were touched by violence and tragedy over the weekend. Be near, God. . . .

I received the most beautiful Christmas postcards from yesterday, so I'm spending the morning addressing them to my Silverpenny Post subscribers and a few other special clients and followers. I always opt for their felt stock. It's got a nice deep texture to it that still takes the ink well without blank patches.
I'll show you the front sides once everyone has received theirs in the mail!
Today, December 12, is the last day to get a free Christmas postcard for signing up for Silverpenny Post, my snail mail club. To learn more, head to my website!

"Hark!" This original watercolor painting was created for one of 's planners, and it represents the good news of Jesus. The subject is taken from a vintage brass horn that I hang in my living room every Christmas season.
The painting is available unframed from my studio.

There's nothing better for a snowy day than painting at the dining room table.....as long as the cat doesn't decide to join in!

Just a few things to be thankful for today:

๐ŸŒตA new Thanksgiving cactus from my secret sister that's about to bloom
โœ๏ธgourds sketched and ready for paint
๐Ÿ‘ถ time spent as nurse with my girl, who's feeling sickly. That's her 20 years ago on her first Christmas. ๐Ÿฅน

Although we're already a week into December, I want to share this monthly feature page from the 2025 planner. I love how the deep charcoal background worked on this one and hope to do more moody illustrations like this soon.
I'm getting some good use out of this handy planner today. There are lots of business & household tasks to complete on this Frosty Monday!
If you've placed an order in my Etsy shop, thank you! Your purchases have helped me cover studio rent, rising supply costs and the startup expenses for my new snail mail subscription that just launched. I'm feeling hopeful and inspired to open my new 2026 planner and begin a new year!
