Chamber of Commerce Meeting and New Board Election
A larger-than-usual crowd filled Bremond City Hall on Tuesday evening as just under 30 residents arrived to participate in the biennial board elections. The meeting opened at 6:35 p.m. with introductions from a range of attendees, including local business owners, longtime residents, and newcomers expressing interest in joining the organization.
In an effort to encourage participation in the 2026 election, the board approved complimentary memberships for all attendees, effective through the end of 2025. However, the crowd was informed by the board, that those wishing to remain voting members for 2026 must pay their dues before the end of this year.
Officer elections proceeded with strong interest from the crowd. Keith Rekieta was elected President following a competitive vote against Ryan Burgess, who was then elected Vice President. Jamie Snider was chosen as Secretary, and Erica Gray was re-elected Treasurer.
With Other Business: A point of contention came when member, Kie Muzyka, raised concerns about the organization’s financial books "being managed by only one person". He argued that "keeping all records on a single officer’s personal computer creates unnecessary risk and lacks transparency". His comments brought debate regarding financial oversight and proper record-keeping.
Polish Days current discussion topics: Will there be an elected committee leader and a separate committee for this event? Will these meetings have their own scheduled session to avoid any disruption to the Chamber business?
The meeting concluded with plans for officers to convene later this month to review records, upcoming events, and organizational priorities.
