This is one of the places I go to reset.

The desert has a way of slowing everything down and clearing your head. No noise, no distractions… just open space and time to think.

After long weeks of work, it’s hard to beat a ride out here.

Working on an electrical pedestal and found this little guy. Tiffany walks up about that time and I show her… She says, “Awww, it’s a baby!”
Yeah… baby demon 😈 lol.
We safely removed it, so no baby demons were harmed in the making of this post.

New washers in Laundry #1 at Black Rock.

It’s not flashy, but it’s important. When equipment works the way it should, people notice. Maybe not in a big way… but in the small, daily ways that matter.

We’ve been upgrading laundry across the parks, with four new washers going into each location. Dryers are next before next season.

Progress isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s just consistent.

Back in November, Tiffany and I took over Holiday Palms.

To put it lightly… it needed some love.

The park itself needed attention, but what really stood out was the team. No tools. No stocked parts. No real processes. Just a lot of good people trying to make it work without direction.

Change wasn’t exactly welcomed at first. There were some hard days. I’m not going to pretend I loved driving into that park every morning.

But we stuck with it.

We started a daily “Fresh Park” routine.
Got the guys the tools and parts they needed.
Organized the storage lots.
Fixed the propane process.
Rebuilt the Rec Hall events.
We’re even replacing old laundry machines in phases so they’re not constantly breaking down.

The difference over the last few weeks has been noticeable. Guests are commenting on how good the park looks. Events are packed. There’s energy again.

Today, four employees came into my office just to say thank you.

That meant more than they probably realize.

Turnarounds aren’t glamorous. They’re uncomfortable and sometimes exhausting. But seeing pride come back into a place? That’s worth it.

Proud of Tiffany. Proud of the team. And grateful for progress.

Little impromptu ride with some of our residents and guests yesterday. It was a fun time and much needed break from the chaos for sure.
