Public Works crews will temporarily close one southbound lane of Rosman Hwy from Caldwell to the Tannery South section of the Estatoe Trail (just past the Marathon gas station) tonight, August 26, from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. The closure will likely continue at roughly the same time on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Since posting this message we are getting additional calls stating that these fake officers are leaving extensive messages stating they are TCSO Deputies and leaving call back numbers and instructions. All of this is just a scam to get your hard earned money!

🚨 SCAM ALERT – DON’T LET THEM REEL YOU IN! 🚨

It’s back… and just like a bad rerun, this scammer script hasn’t changed much.
�We’ve gotten reports of someone calling people in our community pretending to be an officer with the Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office — even spoofing one of our real phone numbers to make it look legit.

📞 The scammer says you’ve “missed jury duty” and now owe a certain amount of money or gift cards to avoid being arrested.

Let’s be crystal clear:
�❌ We will NEVER call you to demand money to pay fines.
�❌ We will NEVER ask you to buy gift cards to “stay out of jail.”
�❌ We will NEVER offer you a deal over the phone in exchange for cash.

This is a recurring scam — and sadly, people continue to fall for it. Once you send money or gift card numbers, it’s gone. 💸 The chances of getting it back are slim to none… and slim just left town.

• Do NOT give personal info.�

• Call us directly at 828-884-3168 to verify.�
Your local deputies would much rather chat with you about the weather or your dog than take a fraud report after your money is long gone. Stay smart, stay safe, and keep your cash where it belongs — with you. 💵
