🥪Favorite spots in Sandwich? Ours is the grist mill. The boardwalk, Quaker meeting house, glass museum, Heritage Museums & Gardens.

Sandwich is the oldest town on the Cape. Settled 1637. A grist mill that has been grinding corn since 1654. The oldest continuous Quaker meeting in America, gathered in 1657 and still meeting. A glass factory that ran furnaces 24 hours a day until a labor fight killed it in 1888.

Which town has the highest property tax rate on the Cape? Sandwich. Chatham has the lowest, and it isn't close —nearly three times as much.

🚢 🏨 ⛵ Barnstable is the biggest town on the Cape and nobody lives there.

They LIVE in Hyannis. Or Cotuit. Or Osterville, Centerville, Marstons Mills, West Barnstable, Barnstable Village.

Barny is the largest town on the Cape - by land and by population — and the name on the tax bill that almost nobody says out loud.

We spent weeks on this one. The Sturgis Library, standing since 1644. Sandy Neck running four miles into the Bay. The only real downtown on the Cape. Shootflying Hill, and the woman who sold newspaper subscriptions in 1890 to build a tower on top of it.

🏛️ The Hazel House is back on the market.

If you've walked the side streets of Provincetown, you've probably stopped in front of 4 Center Street. The yellow parsonage with the shocking acid green roof. The sculpture garden with the volcanic Buddhas and crystal-inlaid walls. The living work of art that Ron Hazel and his art collection created.

It didn't find a buyer the first time around. Maybe the photos didn't capture it. Maybe a property this genuinely, boldly Provincetown just needs the right visionary to see it.
