At the February 27, 2024 meeting of Bridgeport Borough Council, Dr. Ray Abdallah, along with Wendy McLahan of Bridgeport Veterinary Hospital and Lauren Brennan of Phoenix Rehab, as representatives of the Bridgeport Business Association, presented the inaugural Bridgeport "Good Citizen" Award. The first recipient of this award is Mr. John Puzio! Mr. Puzio is a lifelong resident of the borough, a school crossing guard, and a knowledgeable local historian.

The Bridgeport Good Citizen Award, which was an idea suggested by 10 year old resident and elementary student Andrew Heyl, is an award that was created in order to honor borough residents that exemplify community spirit and lend their time and efforts to serving the Bridgeport Community and preserving its character.
