Dear Colts Fans,

A Message From Dain Andrews

First Of All I’d Like To Say I Don’t Like To Keep Things From Our Loyal Listeners.

On Behalf Of Dave And Jeff You Know How Much Doing What We Do Means To Us Ao That It Is Why It Is Hard For Me To Write This. During The End Of The Regular Season Of Basketball Last Year Particularly The Final Game Of The Regular Season Against Mars I Started Developing Severe Headaches And Noticed A Change In My Voice As Opposed To Earlier In The Season When This Happened I Made An Appointment With A Neurologist That Appointment Was Towards The End Of February I Was Sent To Get An MRI That Happened In Last Month I remember It well because I had to get my MRI The Day
Of the Final Game Ever Coached By My Good Friend Melissa Moran. The Results Of The MRI Revealed That I Had Something Called Chiari 1 Malformation Which Is A Condition Where Brain Tissue Extends In To The Spinal Canal Usually Occurring When Part Of The Skull Is Small Or Misshapen. This Is A Congenital Condition. After The MRI. I Then Saw A Neurosurgeon About Two Weeks Who Recommended That I Have Brain Surgery To Fix This Issue And So I Will Be Having Surgery Sometime During Basketball Or Spring Season My Hope Is To Only Miss One Game As The Surgery Requires An Overnight Stay In The Hospital. The Only Thing I Won’t Be Able To Do Is Lift My Suitcase For 6-8 Weeks As That Is The Recovery Time I know I will follow doctors orders if I cannot be on the Air For A Few Games Our Producer Jeff Wink Has Graciously Agreed TO Step In. It is A Long Process To Get To Have This Surgery I have To Lose 20lbs Before I Can Get The Surgery So I’m Taking Extra Care Of My Health Now More Than Ever. I want To Particularly Thank Zack Hayward Our Wonderful Athletic Director For Helping Me Out Through This Process He Has Graciously Taken Time Out Of His Busy Schedule So That I Could Workout With Him To Lose The Weight I Need To lose I also Want To thank My Biggest Supporter Coach West Our Cheer Coach Who Has Been With Me Every Step Of The Way She’s An Amazing Friend And I Love Her Dearly. And Of Course Thanks to you, the listeners Who Have been so supportive over the years. We Do What We Do For You And Have No Plans To Slow Down Anytime Soon I hope you’ll Tune In For Fall, Winter And Spring Sports This Year
