Somerset County Park Commission

Somerset County Park Commission The Somerset County park system consists of 24 park areas and several areas of reserved land totaling 14,780 acres.

This includes General Use Parks, Golf Courses, Special Use Parks, Developed Natural Area Parks, and Undeveloped Natural Areas. The Park Commission has established a tradition of
providing quality and unique programs. Therapeutic Recreation provides year round activities and events for children and adults with developmental disabilities, as well as a summer camp for children who have a learning dis

ability or Aspergers Syndrome. Environmental Education offers programs focusing on local environmental issues, archeology, outdoor education, and bringing nature to children of all ages. Lessons and clinics are offered at many of the facilities, aimed at introducing people to a variety of recreation skills. Special events are also conducted by the Park Commission. The most known of these include the Free Summer Concert Series, the Fourth of July Family Festival, the 1770s Festival, and the Golf Tournaments. Twenty others are also held each year, each with its own distinctive focus. We invite you to examine the events, programs, and facilities listed within.

Majestic sightings on the water! 🦅

Bald eagles are becoming a more common sight along Somerset County’s waterways, like this proud family spotted during a recent kayaking trip.

Once nearly gone from NJ, bald eagles have made an incredible comeback thanks to conservation efforts. Today, they’re listed as a “special concern” by the NJDEP.

If you’re lucky enough to see one, snap a photo—but remember to keep your distance and respect their nesting space.

Let’s Go protect the wild while enjoying it!

American Soul gave Duke Island Park an unforgettable performance full of energy and spirit this past Sunday. If the crowd was moving, the band was grooving!

So far, three amazing groups delivered unique shows from different genres for the Summer Concert Series. We can't wait to hear some country music this upcoming Sunday. Let's Go Celebrate Music!
